I am confused, do I have a general anxiety disorder or not? My one and only symptom is a jittery stomach 24 hours a day. This 24/7 jittery stomach thing has been going on for about a month. The only affect it has on me is that I can’t sleep, other than that I function great at work and everywhere else, and I don’t feel anxious, I just have a jittery stomach.

I simply have a jittery stomach which presents it self as sleeping problem, I will fall asleep, but I can’t stay a sleep longer than about an hour. After a couple of times trying to stay asleep my whole upper body becomes extremely jittery which prevents me from relaxing and falling back alseep. I don’t get enough sleep which obviously makes me sleep deprived the next day.

The doctor gave me xanax. I only use it at night (.5mg) when my jittery stomach won’t let me sleep. So is this anxiety? And if it is, how do I get rid of my all day long jittery stomach with out masking the symptom with medicine?

Thanks, Joe

hmm, I haven't had a symptom like this, but it seems like an anxiety-type thing. If the doctor can't find anything physically wrong, then anxiety would be the logical next step.

My anxiety tends to manifest itself in physical symptoms (fatigue, low body temperature, headache, dizziness). Our minds are pretty powerful and can cause physical pain and problems. Because it was physical, I didn't understand that I had anxiety issues for many years. No one told me that my mind could make me sick.

Do you have the program, Joe? If you don't, you might want to get it. The lessons on how to deal with anxiety, positive self-talk, etc. are great, and the relaxation tape is amazing.

Hi Joe,

I haven't symtoms like you describe all too often. If I do it is usually diet related. Too much caffeine (coffee, tea, coke, mountain dew) can do that.

I have used Rescue Remedy and it has helped me and my formerly panic striken cat "Bunifa".

I am going to give you the google link, so no one will think that I am schilling for any company: http://www.google.com/search?r...TF-8&q=rescue+remedy

If you use the keywords: Bunifa Rescue Remedy (forumulated from flowers), etc, you'll find other articles on this forum's searches, some of the stories are funny.

BTW, I needed some help to get a more restful sleep, I used to wake up almost every hour, until I started taking 4 drops in AM and 4 drops in PM. This was due to constant and chronic pain I have from spinal injuries, and arthritis of the spine. I now average nearly 5 straight hours of sleep and then I snooze for a few more.

Bunifa gets 1 drop twice a day with her meals. She is beautiful now, she used to look all mangey cause she used to go nuts and bite off huge chunks of her hair. She is calm, sleeps well, and has a beautiful coat of fur. It's pretty hard for a cat to be taken in by a placebo effect.

Natural treatments have to be given time to work, there are many people on this forum that have panned this product because they expected instantaneous results, and never truly gave it a chance (at least 30 days) but you have to make note of differences otherwise you think nothing is going on.

I can tell you that if you want everything to taste delicious and fail be to be creative; such as simply mixing with juice or tea, you'll never realize the benefits.

There are many natural treatments that can be used as calming agents, with few or no side effects. The few that occur are due to other things being taken; However, there are no know contra-indications with the formulation in Rescue Remedy.

If you want more information please pm me, and I will try to give you more direction. Somethings, I can't mention on the forum, because they are tied to commercial sites, and I don't want to be considered a spammer.

Hope you give this some consideration.
