I have just finished watching the introductory video to Lucinda's program. I am wondering how many have been able to overcome an alcohol abuse situation because of anxiety/depression. I believe that is the source of my abuse, but am trying to take the steps to stop it before I try inpatient treatment. Has anyone been in this particular situation?
I have 2 small children that I am NOT wanting to leave for 30 days, so I am trying my best to avoid it.
I was very encouraged after watching the introductory video and am hoping this has worked for others. Am now off to watch Session 1 and praying for positive feedback of someone who has resorted to alcohol to keep the feelings at bay and has since recovered.

I hope you're feeling encouraged a bit after working through Session 1. Alcohol abuse is typically used as a defense for anxiety/depression. I think the program will help you take a step back and look at things differently. Seeing how all these things tie together will be helpful.
Regarding treatment, are you talking about a detox program? If so, they do have rapid detox opportunities. Probably pricey, but helpful if you can't commit to a longer stay.
Keep an open mind. Be gentle with yourself.
You have those little ones around as your inspiration. Most importantly, remember that your Creator has a plan and knew this season would be part of it.

I believe that in the sessions, you will hear from a lady named Carolyn. She is the moderator of this site, in fact. She talks about how she would hide bottles of alcohol around the house to get thru the day, etc. Maybe you could contact her for her perspective or ideas on where to get more help.
