Well I was doing just fine the first couple days of this. Then they raised the threat level to a 5 and began shutting down some schools in my area and my anxiety has skyrocketed. I have to do some errands today (groceries, tamiflu pick up (= ship things) but my anxiety has not been this high in a long time. I cant stop thinking what if we get it. My husband is an outside tech who works with many homeowners. Does anyone have any advice out there?

Thank you!!!!!!!

I know everyone's anxiety is very high over this swine flu but especially people like us who have anxiety. I think we must definitely take this seriously but we cannot become obessed over it and be afraid to leave the house.

We need to keep things in perspective. Good handwashing, keep hand santizer with you and apply it regularly, especially after touching things that may have been touched by many. (door knobs, shopping carts, money etc.)

Keep your hands away from your face. Since you are so concerned with your 18 month, it might be a good thing, to limit taking him to places where he maybe in contact with alot of people.

I definitely think the media has latched on to this and they have a way of making everything so scary. Continue to keep working the program. Listen to your relaxation tape.

Your definitely not alone in this. I was feeling the same way you were yesterday. I used my skills to help me put it in persepctive. I also have prayed that God protect my family from it and especially my children. Then there is nothing more I can.

I hope this has helped a little to alleviate some of your anxiety. As parents we worry so much for the help and safety of our children.

Take care and God bless.

Thank you that was helpful!! I hate the way the media makes this out to be. I agree we need to be aware though. Ya until this is over I am not taking him to the childrens museum or the childcare at the gym. We have to go grocery shopping today though. Will just purrel everything. LOL
