I have tried doing this program for a year and a half now but I discovered that I couldn't really move forward as long as I was drinking and drugging. I decided to join AA to have support on sobriety and would like to know what everyone thinks about this topic. Thanks!

I don't really know anything about AA since I've been fortunate not to have to deal with those issues. I just wanted to say that I wish you well in your journey to recovery. I know that program has helped millions of people, and I pray it will for you as well.

Hi Abbette:
I really believe in the AA program. I attended meetings in AA for some time.
It has been over 25 years since I've used alcohol. I used to self-medicate. I dealt with severe depression.
I believe you'll really benefit from the AA 12-step prgram.
And a plus to that is the fact that you'll probably make some good friends there. Life-long friends.

Of course work this program when you've suffeciently defeated the alcohol dependancy.
This program will help you stay off that, too.

Wishing you much success!!

I'm an alcoholic and addict and have been in recovery for 25 years. AA is a wonderful, spiritual program of recovery, one day at a time. You have nothing to lose by attending a meeting and EVERYTHING to gain. The "12 Steps" used in AA can also be used as a way of life. I am so grateful I found AA and, now, this program. I hope you keep me posted with your progress. I'll pray for you.

Hello Abbette,

My brother is an alcoholic and has anxiety and depression. He started going to AA meetings and he is in recovery. He hasn't drank in a few months now. My uncle is recovered 15 years and he's always gone to AA meetings, still does. He made a lot of really great friends there and I don't know if you like traveling or not but he does a lot of that now and meets to new people in different areas of the country and always has a place to stay and someone to visit whereever he goes. AA is great. I wish you all the best luck! Take Care

I been a part of AA for several years. This program with AA can work on a spiritual level. Gaining a positive attitude is great. Both is one step a time, one day at a time. I can say I am very happy I have found both as well.

I have come a long ways myself. I have went from a very shy, very nervous, and very afraid of a lot of things. I have become out spoken, I fearless of things around myself. I still have time to time attacks, but they do not seem so bad. I can always talk about it.

Since I have gained a lot, I am now married where I was so very shy of women. I have a house, and great deal of true friends. I have worked at it everyday.

Today I am speaking for my city, I am standing up for it. Scary sometimes. I faced the fears head on. Sometimes I have taken a step back. I have moved forward. I have even acted on stage, sang solo's. I am board/treasure of my church, I have got a team to help me with it. All this from living alone in a basement apartment that was like a dungon to a house of my own. Incredible but true.

I wish you all the best. If you keep at it, do the steps, one at a time, a day at a time you will be amazed, both with AA and the program.

I nearly lost my life in the life I was living. Came close of getting arrested for the things I was doing.

This is an area I can most certainly relate to. My life is a lot more positive today then ever. A lot stands behind me now. I got communities that stands behind me.

God Bless you
