I feel like the harder I try the farther away I get from where I want to be and if I don't try hard I feel like im just giving up on myself and allow the negativity to determine my fate of failure and a life of never ending victimization and insecurity, Maybe I just need a break and then restart later I don't know but It seems like it's been so long and i'm still not where I would like to be on a mental emotional social level

Dear Abbette,
You're not alone in how you feel. It is definitely frustrating trying to overcome this disorder. But tens of thousands of people have done it, through this program or therapy. Can you think of something kind you can do for yourself today?

Hi Abbette,
I know it is difficult, but try not to be so hard on yourself. I have been where you are and it is so overwhelming. What helped me was simplifying my approach (I think I was trying too hard as well) to getting better and it worked for me. No guarantee it will for you but you may want to read the simple encouraging CBT book by Sam Obitz and just focus on the TEA form exercise in it.
My old therapist originally suggested this book to me but I never got it until a poster here named lilchrissy referenced it in one of her post here that I'm gonna try and find and link for you. It has literally helped me turn my life around. Don't give up!
