Hello,
I wanted to know if anyone had ever experienced sinus congestion in the ears or fluid in the ears? I was sneezing so bad about a month ago, so it must have drained in my ears. I went to the doctor last Saturday. They prescribed an antibiotic for me.
Anyhow...I was feeling much better last Sunday. I was up moving about, eating and feeling better and all, and Monday came and I was still feeling pretty well, but noticing nausea again. On top of all of that...I had my cycle 7 days earlier, which was unusual, but I have had that happen when I have been really sick, or stressed, so my doctor told me that she was sure that the sinus infection was what may have brought it on early, but that sent the anxiety up the scale for me when I noticed that!! I got all worked up wondering why that was early!
Well, since then I have gotten extremely anxious. I have not had panic attacks in quite awhile, and have noticed that I have had a few this week. I was having terrible dizzy spells until I was thinking I would faint! It turned out that it was fluid in my ears. That went on for about 2 weeks but I kept thinking I was having panic attacks-although they felt much different from what I was used to experiencing.
I finally went to the doctor to get checked out.
I just want all of this to go away!! I wake up anxious, and throughout the day I am anxious. I find that I am wondering when I will feel better again. I have called the doctor's office twice because I felt that I was not making progress, but they assured me that I would get better in time. I am doing better, but I still get dizzy sometimes when I drive and I noticed that I feel so anxious! My heart has been racing and that scares me. I had been able to control panic attacks recently, but this week I have found that I have been having them while driving, or while at home, etc. I have talked to others that have told me that the fluid in ears can make you feel so bad- like flu-type symptoms, hot flashes, vision changes, etc and I have experienced all of that. It makes me nervous because I don't want anything bad to happen!
If anyone has dealt with this, please reply so that I will feel a little better. :)
I pray that my mind will not run all over the place thinking "what if"! I have done a lot of that over the past few weeks.I just don't want to get so terrible and depressed while I am getting better, and that is what it feels like!
I will get through this...I have to keep believing it!!

Hey,

Even if you took an antibiotic and the infection is gone it still takes a little while for the fluid to decrease, dizziness may be because of your ears or fluid as well as fluid balance shifts related to your cycle, sometimes a little salt helps if you get dizzy, some on the tongue, just a taste.

HI there i have something similar that is freaking me out. Ive had anxeity for a while, i was able to control it and it came back. It came back with my first panic attack. The panic attack scared me back into my anxiety. Ive been doing the program, and i was getting better but then some other fear brings me down. It goes from one fear to the next and its a bit frustrating. NOW, i was perfectly fine these past few days until i noticed something. Have you guys ever noticed like a sound when your in a totally silent place. Sounds sort of like tv static or like shish sound. Well i hope someone has, because ever since i noticed that sound i go out of my way to try and hear the sound. I start thinking WHAT IF the sound gets so bad that it drives me crazy WHAT IF ETC.....I was sick like 2 weeks ago, and my ears feel heavy. I dont know if its me making up the sound or what im just a little scared and fed up. ANY INPUT FROM ANYONE WOULD MAKE ME FEEL BETTER THANKS!

Thanks for your response. I totally understand how a panic attack will send you back into anxiety, because the fluid in my ears have done that to me. I have heard people say that they hear sounds in their ears at times, so you are not making that sound up. You may be focusing in on it (as we anxious people tend to do), but I really think that you may have some drainage in your ears. If it continues you can get them to look into them and tell you if there is any fluid in there. I had never had fluid in my ears but once and it wasn't so bad that I needed an antibiotic. I was dizzy but this time the dizziness was much more intense-it was enough to drive you nuts!!
You will be fine! You will not go crazy! I won't either!! LOL

Hi Everyone,
I have suffered from this fluid behind my ear drums for years now...It makes one feel very off-balance, and can make one feel very dizzy!!!

Every time the doctor checks my ears, he tells me that I have fluid behind my ear drums!!!

I really do believe that these sinus problems and inner ear problems can lead to anxiety symptoms, since, no-one feels good while feeling dizzy or off-balance!!!

What is sooo strange, is that once the fluid dries up for a few days, then, the dizziness and off-balance feelings subside!!!

I know that fluid behind our ear drums are very unpleasant feelings, but, I also know that it can't hurt us, either..

BTW...Alex, do not allow these strange sounds in your ears to frighten you in any way...Anyone who has ear problems hear strange noises in their ears...

Alex...Your fears are unfounded, so, just let them go...You are very sane, and this is just your ears acting up...

Try to focus on something else, besides your ears...Distract yourself in some way...You are not going crazy, or beginning to hear voices...Like I said, you are perfectly sane!!!

I pray this helps to alleviate those fears!!! God Bless...

Thanks Ms.T Bones-that was helpful. I think I have a lot of things going on right now...from the female issue to the fluid in the ears, to the anxiety. I just feel yucky! I go outside and it is soooooo hot here-like 94 degrees and I get nervous thinking I am going to get dizzy, then my heart races, but anyway, I will get past this. It's always helpful to talk to someone. Thanks again!

I am using self-talk this evening and believing that I will feel better again. I need to look ahead and not look back or at my present situation or feelings. I need to remember that I will feel better soon. My appetite is terrible right now-due to the nausea off and on...one thing I am noticing is that the nausea is MUCH better than it has been all week! I noticed more dizziness today, and I think that is a lot of anxiety because I feel so anxious. I am going to take one day at a time!
Still keeping the faith! :)
