Hi there. Just checking in today. I have trouble with focusing on a thought and not letting go of it and it is usually negative. What's the best way to blast those out of there? I have had a few good days. Not too anxious but it seems to just lurk on the outside. I try focusing on the positive but its sure a back and forth thing. Thanks.

Cathy..would describing your day as being on the brink be accurate? It sounds like how I've been the last couple of days. I'll be ok and then not sleep well and get rest and my anxiety strikes back through health related symptoms. Vicious cycle!!! The negative thoughts need to be combated by distracting yourself with relaxation or busy work. The thing with us is that we're wired in such a way that the negative thoughts creep back very easily. Almost OCD. Just remember to use your breathing techniques and allow yourself to feel. Be kind to yourself...

I agree and I also say Distraction is key in so many instances. When I am in the car anxious I either will play with the radio or put in a CD and sing or read a magazine till the sitation passes .Like the red light or waiting in the left turn lane. Two least favorite scenarios for me.. Breathing and distraction . At home I will vacuum or make the bed or do dishes or something so I am not just sitting and fretting. That helps alot. And praying, can't get too much praying in. Especially for others, not just the "God Make it Stop" prayer. That one is a given

Take care and keep working the program.
