hi,
does anyone know what the blood test for h pylori is called?? my gi doc sent me for blood work but the only things that are checked on the bloodwork paper are complete metabolic panel, cbc, and celiac disease. how would he know if i have h pylori? what is the blood test for h pylori called or can it be found in what he is already sending me for? thanks!!

Hi Irish,

It is actually called an h. pylori test. It is drawn in your blood.

Hi Irish i have had that test and i remember my doc telling me it was a test specifically for h-pylori it is a bacteria in the lining of the stomach if i remember right.It can be detected in the stool also.They gave me two different kinds of antibiotics for two weeks and that was the end of it.I hope this helps you some .........Tim
