and it has caused 2 major panic attacks of which I have never had the like. I thought I had this anxiety stuff about whipped but I need to get this gas pressure to go away so i can stop freaking myself out. Anyone else ever have this happen to them. I keep trying all these anti-gas things even Charcoal tabs. It seems to go down for awhile and fill right back up. Can't even belch it out real good. I know it gets worse because I get myself scared though.

Hi Jeff,
Something that really helps me if I have any kind of stomach/intestinal discomfort is eating anything made with real ginger. I had similar symptoms a couple of years ago, and it really is scary when you don't know what's going on with your body (even if the little voice of reason in the back of your mind realizes that it isn't anything serious). Checking with a doctor couldn't hurt, of course, especially if you're really worried, but you might also give ginger a try. You can find "real" ginger ale (i.e., soda made with actual ginger and not just flavoring) in the health/organic section of many grocery stores, although soda might not be the best idea if you have gas! Ginger snaps help me a lot (and taste good, too).
Good luck to you! I hope that you feel better soon!!

Thanks Omaha I am starting to feel better. Now that I have had panic attacks again I think I need to re-learn how to put a stop on them before they start. Panic attacks are so stupid it's all in your mind and it's still hard to get over them dang it! Thanks for your concern.

I'm glad to hear that you're feeling better today! You're right--even with all of the wonderful tools this program gives us, it can still be difficult to stop a panic attack when one happens. One thing that really stood out to me that I found to be very helpful was the image of a stop sign (I believe this was suggested in the second session). Immediately picturing a big stop sign at the first signs of a panic attack helps me bring myself back to reality and approach the situation from a more rational perspective.
Have a glorious evening!!

Jeff it's amazing what our thoughts and feelings can make our bodies do. When I'm in stress/anxiety mode feeling a little confined, maybe in a traffic jam or something, I all of a sudden have to use the bathroom several times. But I can be calm and even if I have eaten very similarly to the times I'm stressed, I'll be fine, because I'm calm and don't really care about feeling confined.
Same with gas - and sometimes I'll simply think about it being in a line somewhere and things start brewing. LOL...don't know a better way to put it. It's kind of funny.
There is a homeopathic remedy called Carbo Veg which really helps with gas. You can find it at the health food store as well.

Thanks alot both of you. I am feeling back to being myself again today and didn't have any panic attacks yesterday. The pressure is gone I used Charcoal tabs and I think that helped alot but it also may have been some kind of intestinal bug. Thanks again for your help and concern. If I can ever help either of you please let me know.
