So the same doctor called me for a checkup who put me through hell with all those antibiotics as the gynocologist in brunswick said (she overmedicated you).. I was thinking of if i should go see her again to see if she can help but then i thought she might just tell me to do whatever Gateway says with the medication.. and tell me to keep taking those stupid oxybutinine pills for bladder spasms that make me dizzy.

The problem wtih gateway is that i have to wait until Thursday to call then Friday to go in and hope they can put me in. What i'm waiting for is for them to change my anxiety pill to xanax since the last one didn't help stop my anxiety attack.

I'm also wanting to see if maybe xanax can stop the urethra pain and stomach acid somehow if my nerves are causing it.

That way i can take the xanax then maybe not be afraid to take the Zoloft to help me and not think of the side effects.


I have 2 pills i have to try and take first.. this is hard for me since im afraid of pills. Its Prilosec which im not sure if it will help with my stomach pains , acid reflux and gas. Then there is a brown pill that makes your urine turn orange and is supose to help with urethra pain which the gynocologist gave me and said to take 3 of them a day which is hard because i would only take 1 or 2... does it matter if you take just 1 or 2 a day or do you HAVE to take 3 as perscribed?? im really nervous right now thinking about all this i jsut put it off alot so it doesnt upset me but idk what to do... what do you think i should do?

I'm a pharmacist, so I'll try to help you out.

The Prilosec will reduce the amount of acid that your stomach puts out.

The brown pill is an anesthetic for your urethra, so that it won't hurt to pee while you are getting over your bladder infection.

Medications have a certain amount of time that they work in your body. Some are 4-6 hours, some are 8 hours, some are 12 and some are 24 or more. This one prescribed 3 times per day obviously lasts about 8 hours per pill. This particular med (the brown one) is just for pain relief, so if you don't mind the pain and are afraid of the meds, you don't have to use it at all.

The Prilosec lasts 24 hours and will help your stomach to be able to heal a bit, in a less acidic environment.

I don't think the Xanax will do a thing for urethra pain or do much for the stomach acid in the short term. It would allow you to feel less anxious and then be able to work on your fears. Then when you feel better, you can go off the Xanax and continue working on your fears and gain a calmness which will help with nervous stomach symptoms.

Call your local pharmacist and ask all the questions you want. They will answer them and work with you. It's OK to tell them you are afraid of this stuff- it's pretty normal especially when we are already nervous nellies.

I hope you feel better soon. I've never had a bladder infection, but I know they are common and they hurt like h--l.
