Hello, I would like to know if Lucinda's program works well for social anxiety disorder? I ask this question because I ordered a program once for anxiety in general which wasn't tailored to social anxiety and I was disappointed. SA is different and should be treated differently from other anxiety disorders so I would like to know if Lucinda's program significantly addresses social anxiety? I also have a debilitating fear of blushing which just amplifies the social anxiety 100 times. If I didn't blush I would be 70% cured. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

There are some issues of social anxiety disorder that the program covers. I have a fear of people humiliating me in public...im afriad theyll look at me and think im weak and try to take advantage of me. There are self help books that specifically deal with social anxiety.

i would say yes because it teaches u how to change your anxious thoughts, whatever they may be, and these scary thoughts are what lead to social anxiety. it also teaches u how to be more comfortable in social situations, and just how to overcome and deal with anxiety in general. Plus on the back of the workbook it includes that it is helpful for those suffering from social phobia. but if u try it and it really doesnt help, u might want to try "the shyness and social phobia workbook",i bought it recently and am going to give it a try along with the program. well good luck~ ;)

TipToe,
I have the same blushing thing going on. It makes you feel like your a neon sign saying,
"I'm uncomfortable here right now!" I never used to have this at all it has just developed in the past two years. I feel that socially I am very friendly and outgoing, but my body is obviously telling me something different. I was so concerned about it I mentioned it to my Dr. People had asked me if I had high blood pressure, but my blood pressure is just fine. So anyway,
I know how you feel about this. It is good to know that we are not alone. I would love to find a way to overcome this body symptom.

Do you order the "Shyness and Social Phobia workbook from StressCenter?
