Stress Center Peer Support

Hello everyone,

I just ordered the prgram for my husband and got it last Thursday. I am trying to read from all of you your symptons. He has been and out of the hospital 5x since last July with no real help. We could not even find a Dr to follow up with after real of the mentle health unit. H eha been on 14 different medications. Right now they have him seroquel sn anti pycotic med at a low dose. His symptons are like real racing thoughts that he can not even pin point what he is thinking, he feels numb and like he's coming out of his skin. We have been using the breathing tape and are on lession 4. He gets so worked up he dry vomits. It is just so sad to see him this way he has always been a productive person, but always a worrier. The drs had him on valium for over 2 years which he starred abusing and right after that is when he started feeling like he is loosing his mind.
I am trying to hold it together but it is really starting to effect the way I feel. He can't sleep so that disurbes me as well and I have Fibro myaglia. It is really taking a toll on me and I need to be there for him. I am praying that this program is the answer cause nothing eles has been. I am discusted with Dr's and meds.
Anyone else have his syptoms or mine, sure could use a shoulder

I was like that a couple weeks ago.I went to the ER and my personal physician several times.I had numerous tests done but all turned out well.I was finally diagnosed with anxiety/depression.I was also vomiting,had no appetite,couldn't sleep,lost lots of weight.After i learned more about my condition,I began to calm down.My nerves were what was making me so sick....always worrying that i had a deathly sick illness.I felt the same with the crawling out of my skin.It is probably just anxiety.I will be praying for the both of you.Hope this was a little helpful.

What was he diagnosed with? 14 different meds is alot. Over how long of a period has he been trying different meds? Sometimes from what I hear there are side effects when coming off so they may contribute to the symptoms. First off I want to tell what I wonderful person you must be to be by his side like you are. It is very hard for the spouse to deal with this. I feel for both of you because anxiety is very hard to deal with but the good news is he can get through it. A year ago this month I had my first really severe panic attack. I couldnt sleep good for weeks and would stay in a horrible anxious state all day. I had heart palputaions and just a sense of being confused (rightfully so anxiety is confusing) This lasted really bad up until about 2 months ago. It got better but the constant anxiety was there. Today I had a severe panic attack in Target and instead of freaking out, for the first time I let it ride. I did a lot of self talk and with in 10 minutes I was fine. I want you and your husband to know that there is every reason to belive that he will overcome this. Not only overcome it but come out a better person. I will say a prayer for you guys and if you need anything and I mean anything just PM me.

I've had those symptoms too. It is just anxiety. It will take him some time to accept the fact that what is causing all his symptoms is anxiety. The constant worrying and negative thoughts is what keeps one in the state of anxiety. Try the program and apply yourself, it will get better, but he must apply himself. Good luck to you both, I know it is hard to see someone you love suffer.
