Hi everyone,I have been doing this program for about 4 years. I am so much better. I still have a problem with being scared of body symptoms however. My anxiety started with throwing out my back. Even though I did it many times before, this time sent me into a tailspin. Now, everytime I get anxious, my back hurts and I get the fear that I will throw it out again. I can't seem to shake this feeling. Has anyone else dealt with this before. Help.

pizza,
I haven't had your experience but I can understand why you are fearful of it happening again. It's very uncomfortable to experience back problems such as spasms, bulging disks, etc... It can produce so much anxiety just thinking about it. I am sure that your worries begin in your mind and then display themselves in your body sensations. It's not uncommon for our bodies to remember past pains and injuries.
The mind and body are so connected that our bodies feel what we think and think what we feel.
Your body has a memory and that's all you are doing is revisiting your thoughts of the past and fearful that it may happen again.
Anxiety is nothing to be fearful over. That too is uncomfortable but not dangerous to you. When you experience anxiety, you must tell yourself that your feelings are simply
distressing and not dangerous and then you must proceed with what you were doing. DO NOT AVOID doing something you want or need out of fear!
I wish you well as you move ahead.

Hello Pizza,
I have the same fear but mine is obsessing about tinnitus and earringing. I have all the same symptoms and worry constantly when I'm feeling good. So much so that it brings on the tinnitus and then it just loops from there, back and forth. We will get better, I know.

How did the tinnitus and ear ringing turn out for you? I'm dealing with that right now--I think I have fluid in my ears that is at least contributing to it, but I'm waaaaaay over reacting and making it worse.

I too have some weird thing going on with ringing in my ears. i am on lexapro but i actually didn't notice the ringing until i was looking online and saw the word "tinnitus" and read about what it was. Then i noticed my ears ringing. I only notice it when its quiet or when i think about it. But i can be having a good day and hear my ears ring and get a fearful feeling that causes anxiety and ruins my good feeling.
