Hi. I am new to this program and website. My mother recently purchased the program for me. I have lived with Panic attacks for 4 years now, and was just recently diagnosed with depression. I was writting this to see if anyone could give me some support tips.. Any information and tips are welcomed. Thank you.

welcome to the message boards and I am glad you have the program. It is helping me alot. One thing I can suggest right away is to do all the assignments and tapes the way they are recommended. Many of us here have tried to change it around to the way we like it instead only to have to end up going back to the beginning. Guilty as charged right here :p
Also enjoy reading some of the positive information in the Triumphs Thread. Some of those stories of recovery are so moving.
Another suggestion is to remember that you are unique and what works for one person may not have the same effect on you and what work Amazingly well for you may not work for someone else.We all have so much in common though and you will see that as you read stuff.
Try hard not to compare yourself to anyone else on here. You will recover in your own way and in your own time. Remember to be your own best friend and give yourself lots of love and TLC since you are going to be your own best friend and advocate now.
Keep posting and sharing and again, welcome. So glad you joined us :)

Take care
Jill~

Jillzmind is 100% right. You're unique, how you got here, how you will do the program, how long it takes, etc. I made the mistake once of doing the program like I did life: competitively and perfectly, as if that was going to work. That's how I got here! I am doing the program again (Oct 2007-first time) because I had a set back...just a set back. I'm nowhere near what I was 2 years ago...or almost 25 years ago when I had my first panic attack! I'm a work in progress and so are you...I can't promise you you'll never have another panic attack if you do the program. I will say it made me look at life a whole new way, gave me the roadmap for what I had to do (even if I didn't always do it), and is always here for me when I need it. Yes, I had another setback but it was so comforting to listen to my CD's, knowing it works and I was going to be ok. You will be ok too.

Liz,
Welcome and just take it one day at a time. I started going to a couselor last week and I do believe that I have been having panic attacks ever since I was young, but didn't have a word for the it. But all of my life I have been supressing all of my feelings until now. Find a good support system. Even if that is one person. But I have one friend who I call every morning. I don't know how religious you are, but having a strong faith in GOD has helped me. I am a Preacher's Kid, but I had and have fallen off from time to time. Remember that yes you are unique and that you make it through this. You will find a good support here!!! Again, Welcome!!!
