Stress Center Peer Support

So I awoke last night at around 1am and felt really uncomfortable in my chest. It got to where I could feel my heart just beating faster and faster out my chest and that worked me up to where I couldn't stay still, was having trouble breathing, and just freaking out because I felt I was losing control over myself. I've had two major anxiety attacks in six years that required an ambulence and I thought this was going to be number 3. But I eventually got a ride to the ER. So after waiting hours, Finally see the doc...he has a ekg and a chest x ray done and both come out normal. I told him I've had uncomfortablness in my chest for years and always think its my heart. He said its def. not my heart, and prescribed me anti inflamatory meds because he thinks it could be my joints inflamd in my chest......so here's the weird thing....they did a urinalysis on me and right before I was leaving the nurse pulled me aside and had a real attitude on here and said my test came back positive for marijuana. I haven't smoked that in years and never ever would smoke it again because that's where my anxiety was created from , tripping of weed back in 05. So i just dont know how it would come up on my test. I had a few beers earlier in the day and bummed a few cigarrates off my dad. I know he smokes weed but i dont want to think he might have laced one of his cigs . Because I have no clue how else it could have got in my system. well just thought id share my experience from last night

weird, i didnt know they did drugs screens like that in the e.r. How dare that nurse judge you like that, im sure shes not perfect.

yea i thought it was pretty weird that I had to do a urinalysis while i was there. I dont smoke weed at all what so ever and when she said it came up i was just shocked and she treated me as if I was lying this whole time and that's why i was in the ER.

Last year, when my 84 year old grandmother was in the ER for a heartrate of over 200 and high bp, they tested her urine and said she tested positive for marijuana!! My grandmother didn't even know what it was! Once it wore off, she was fine and sent home. We don't know how that happened, but we sure got a good laugh, lol!

hahaha yea my family had a pretty good laugh too. they know how im terrified of weed and would never smoke it and it showed up somehow. very strange

I recently stopped the weed habit due to the fact it made me more, not less anxious. I passed one month without it on the 18th and don't miss it. Saving the money is nice too !!!

Can 2nd hand weed smoke show up in your system (you said your dad smokes it).

With some of the stories you hear about hospitals these days, the nurse probably got urine samples mixed up.

well i know he does. he doesnt admit it or do it around me but It smells like it in his car all the time so i kno he does . yeaa i cannot think of any othere way it wouldve shown up. had to have been a mix up lol
