Can sugar addiction be cured?

Does anyone know if a life long addiction to sugar can be healed?
It is great that you recognize it as an addiction. Many people don't.
Sure it can be cured. Realizing it, as you do, is step No. 1. Then you reduce it gradually, less and less and less. Don't bring sweet stuff in the house. Find substitutes such as sugar free hard candy, sugar free jello, canned fruit in pure fruit juice, just to name a few. Let us know how you are doing. You may come up with good ideas for the rest of us.
