Hi Lynda,
It is very nice to see you back in the forums! I am very glad to hear you are in recovery and feeling positive again after so many struggles, and that you have hope again and have found the confidence to succeed. Keep it up and keep on posting about your successes!

Not much has changed with me lately. I haven't updated my depression forum post since September so I think I will write more there soon about what has been going on. I feel I should write more to help me let go some of the thoughts and feelings. It is a new year and hopefully a much better one for me, and everyone. I just made a general resolution to do more to get better, like getting more sleep and exercise.

mark:

One of the major changes for me in 2013 was when my mom died in December.
She was 84 years old.
My dad died in 2005.
So now I am all alone.
It is a weird feeling.
This past Christmas Day I was all by myself, alone in my apartment.
Strange.

My sister lives in another state.
I have one sister, a brother-in-law, a niece and two great-nieces.
That is pretty much all of my family.

Lyndalu, I am so sorry to hear of the passing of your mother. I know how you were close and took care of her. I glad that you are doing good. I am trying to not put so much into Christmas . I would rather think what the day represents. The gift giving puts people into finical woes. It is nice to get together with family and have a meal. good to see you back on here.

I wish I could read through ALL of the posts here so that I could figure
out what everyone has been doing since I last wrote on here, but I don't
think my eyeballs could handle it.

foreveryoung: Thank you for the kind words.

Loveslife: What a great idea it was to start this Dear Diary back in 2011.
It has been quite a success.

mark: When you find out the secret to a good nights sleep, please tell me !
I have not slept well FOR YEARS. ( Yawn ).

Lyndalu I am so glad to see you on here. Lets see if we can help keep this alive. I don't sleep good either. I do well if I get 4 or 5 hrs sleep. I think the SSRI anti depressants are to blame. I took imipramine for yrs it is a tryclinic anti depressant it made me very sleepy and I slept well but the side effects were terrible. I had extreme dry mouth and severe colon trouble. I also had more heart fluttering. I didn't think about this until recently. I was on Prozac for a yr and went off it and started getting went back on Prozac but couldn't sleep so switched and am at least able to go to sleep.

Dear forever:

The last few nights I have been tracking my sleeping pattern.
It has gone like this. I sleep for one hour. Then I wake up.
Then I use the restroom. I sleep for two hours. Then I wake up.
Then I use the restroom. I sleep for two more hours.
Then I wake up. Then I, again, use the restroom.
I sleep for two more hours ( maybe ) and then I lie around
for a while. And then I get up.

I also have had a night eating
problem recently. The last time I had night eating was when
I was taking the Lunesta. I have not taken the Lunesta for
probably two years.

I don't know if I snore or have the sleep
apnea because I live alone and I don't have a clue if I stop
breathing at night. Sleep apnea is becoming more common
now than ever. Maybe I have a bladder problem and that is
why I wake up ? Once again, I don't know anything about
that subject. I seem to be able to fall asleep ( finally )
without sleep medication, but I cannot stay asleep for too long.
I don't even remember the last time I slept four hours in a row.

I haven't slept well for at least 7 years, or longer.
I have been sleeping in a recliner for 7 years because I have
physical conditions that cause pain when I lie down flat in a bed.
What a mess.

I am seeing a brand new Primary Care Physician this week.
I am hoping that a fresh new set of eyes from a new
PCP will help me to get the help I need. Very little sleep or
loss of sleep can deeply effect your emotional and physical health.
I am literally TIRED ALL OF THE TIME. Day and night.
