This "Good Days" brand of supplements is a brand being sold and recommended by Lucinda Bassett. There are three:
(1) Positive Mood Formula
(2) Sleep & Relaxation Formula
(3) Complete (Daily Nutrition)
I haven't taken any nor will I. There are so many of these type of "mood" supplements out there I wouldn't trust any of them. At least if I take a medication prescribed by my doctor I can look up the info and possible side effects and so on. Plus to be sold they have to pass various FDA testing and trials. Not so with supplements. One never knows the side effects of these things. One should ALWAYS check with their family doctor (or at least pharmacist) with a list of ingredients before jumping into these supplements. It appears everyone on the planet is pushing their wares these days and I don't see one as being any better than another (and most likely none of them do any good at all).

Wow, Flyer, I like your stance which I generally share, yet I do take some supplements (not for mood). I take a multiple vitamin, calcium (have osteoporosis), a couple others presumably to thin my blood (for my own reasons) and Vit. C. Am big on Vit. C. Just thought I'd share, not recommending anything.

Tina, I take some doctor recommended supplements as well, like Vitamin C and Omega 3 fish oil. In fact, I think those are the only two. I just don't like all of these "mood" and "other" supplements with all of their strange ingredients, some of which nobody's ever heard of. And, I don't like it that they are uncontrolled, with absolutely no testing or approvals before marketing.

I love that your Dr. recommended two I take because of what I experienced and read. I even eat some fish every day but doubt that can be enough.
Vit C came into my life (you need not read this tale) when I suddenly got an acute case of shingles. Dr. gave me a different med for it, but then I went to work. Decided shingles broke out because my immune system was weakened. How to boost it was my assignment. In addition, I was getting colds every other week. Read up on Linus Pauling and became a convert. Honestly, believe Vit C is keeping me alive and keeping shingles (the measles virus) in check as my immune system did all my life. We can get plenty of Vit C in our diet, but this may or may not be enough.
Going back to the mood issue, my hearty recommendation is a walk outdoors to try and connect with nature. Even in cold and grey and damp it can do good. Spring is not far off.
Flyer, I'm posting here and at Zone. Trying to remember what I post where, what, and to whom could get me into trouble. Could it be good for napping brain cells? Maybe a new brain game? (joking)

I'm with you guys, I have taken and try to take the vitamins I got when I was on a women to women website years ago. It was to help with perimenopause symptoms and women's health. I still have the prepackaged vitamins, which contain the appropriate dosage for women to help with bone health and vitamin C as well as Omega 3. I'm finding that now, I can't take these vitamins completely due to my agitated stomach. Maybe if I were taking my Xanax I would feel calmer.
I started taking B-complex, but feel that I can only take it not every day unless I'm eating good. I think I'll get a smaller dosage of B-6 and Omega 3 or fish oil. Also, will try using Evening of Primrose again too and see how I feel. I'm at the stage now that I need to be taking these vitamins for brain and bone health along with prevention of diseases that vitamin C gives.
Since I stay away from sugary foods, I'm not getting as much natural Vit C as I should get. Also need to have the Magnesium w/ the Calcium as well. I also agree that I need to get out and do some walking in the sunshine to build up those great neurotransmitters. Paislee
P.S. I like the brain test or game by posting on both Zone and here, Tina!

Paislee, I think you said elsewhere (that brain game again) that you were considering a walk, but were reluctant because of temps. So I can't help but add that I have hardly missed a day despite crazy temps. Bundle up and go. Walk two miles in a half hour. Not bad.
To continue the mood theme here,I may as well add that my favored form of escapism has been physical exercise. Believe it has been proven that physical exercise stimulates those natural feel good dopamines. For me all manner of exercise is the antidote to anxiety, fear, and more. I go to a gym twice a week. At home I have a collection of what I call "gym toys." Put on favorite music and off I go: weights, medicine ball, fitball, stretch bands, stability disk, etc. I know yoga quite well and am learning tai chi. This becomes a hobby and habit.
Now I had the added motivation to avoid strokes like my brother has had. I succeeded for several years, but got zapped two months ago. I adamantly refused to go the patient and rehab route (I am NOT advocating this). My own rehab began instantly. The reason I was so stubborn was because I know first hand what all the doctoring did for my brother: nothing. He only got worse. A great, great, daily heartache to me.
I work at recovery and beloved exercise every day.

Greetings,
I tried the good days supplement when i started the program last year. It really helped me to get over the low days, I have periodic mild depression so I only took it for a limited time. As a matter of fact this week has been such a struggle that I've started taking it again. It helps me but of course it's always best to check with your doctor first. My experience is that it makes me feel more light-hearted, relaxed, and I didn't seem to take things so seriously. I also struggle with social anxiety so I noticed that I feel more open and friendly to others. After a few days of being depressed and unmotivated, I have to get some relief. I'm not that big on taking anti-depressants so I haven't approached my doctor about it yet. Sometimes I think I just need to slow down and reduce the stress in my life... and take a brain break!

Thank you, but I cancelled them. It was a bit to expensive for my price range every month. I have changed my diet and I started mild excersise. Am also reading alot about diffrent ways to reprogram the subconsious. its been helping I see a big difference. As for the program I haven't receieved it just yet it's been almost 3 weeks. I think they were experiencing bad weather. I too struggle with social anxiety my intake on your mild deppression is that because we have a hard time at enjoying life it affects our level of happiness. I hope you feel better tomorrow . Try to go outside and smell the flowers, look at all the colors all around you. Nature sure seems to help how we feel.

I feel much better today. I actually took the day off from work and told them that I was unplugged today. I have a lot of stress on my job and home life and it sometimes get overwhelming. I'm going to try to have a good weekend (whatever that means) because I have a day full of meetings on Monday. My husband comes home today so that's going to be interesting. He isn't going to be pleased about the money that I spent on getting the furnace fixed but I was tired of being cold. Fortunately, he's a great guy and he won't be upset for long. Sometimes I wish I were more like him, he rarely lets stuff get him down. I'll continue to take the supplements when I need them, but I understand about the cost. I noticed that they sell them in GNC and the cost outrageous! Take care.
