I first went through the program 5 years ago along with being on paxel , when I tried to get off the meds. I had trouble again. Maybe it was anxiety or the way I tried to get off. Doc put me back on and all went well till the next time I tried to get off the paxel about 6 months ago. He now has me on Prosac and for the last 3 months it has not been easy, still having some anxiety problems.. I seemed to do well when on the paxel, but what I really want is to be on NO MEDS. Any helpfull hints out there.
PS. now going thru program again and is helping alot
Thanks Chas

As they even state in the program, sometimes we need some type of medication during the rough times just to get by while we learn the thoughts and techniques to rid ourselves of our anxiety and/or depression. So, don't be afraid to take some meds for the time being at least. If you feel you did better on the Paxil than on Prozac, you could discuss this with your doctor and perhaps go back to the Paxil for a bit. I know we all wish to be medication free. That is the goal. But sometimes we can't do that all at once. As you go back through the program, maybe you can keep reducing your meds little by little (under a doctor's supervision of course). And, just think, by the time you have gone through the program you may just have gone through all of the meds as well. Wouldn't that be great? Just take it day by day and don't worry if you have to be on a med for a bit. Good luck! :)
