I always get to anxious and nervous before I have a doctor appmnt or anything similar to that. It's like I mentaly picture myself at the docs office and get even more anxious thinking about it. Is this only me?

I have to laugh, 2young4this, because with me, you'd think I'm being made to walk the plank instead of an appt. You hit the nail on the head with me. I don't know if it's the wait, which can be long and I hate idle time and an idle mind, or I'm worried about what the doc will say, will he see my meds list and think I'm off the deep end- which I've had happen. I'm on high blood pressure meds off label to help with mood swings and they always ask if I really have high blood pressure. One day I want to scream "NOOOOO! Sometimes I feel like I'm losing my mind!!!
I have a dentist appt today in 3 hours and am doing everything possible to put off a bath and the 45 minute drive to town. I wish we could put our finger on it, but as you said in your post to me, no- you are not alone, I am right there with you.......Both looking for assurance of not being alone.

you know sometimes you do just have to laugh because really this is silly we get scared and nervous about going somewhere and mentaly prep ourselves for weeks...I have a doctor appmt in 2 days and ive been thinking about it since the beginning of october. all there going to do is a check up on babys heartbeat and that good stuff...But I still cant understand WHY i get so freakin nervous about walking in docs office, signing in...and waiting...UGH Your right I wish we could just put our finger on it. But I am glad that I am not alone and we can face this together. Have a blessed day and try to stay calm and have a good dentist appmnt. Remember to brush before going...LOL..Just tryin to lighten up the mood.

Congratulation on the baby! I know that you're going through a lot of anxiety from my own experience, but you will make it!
Luckily we can laugh at ourselves and see that this too shall pass.
I've been through almost a pack of cigarettes this morning but the clock is still ticking at the same pace lol. Gotta go brush and floss lol- thanks for lightening the mood!

I also experience anticipatory anxiety before doctor appts or having to go to a hospital. The really funny thing is that I used to work as a registered nurse before I quit work 3 years ago to stay at home with my kids. Go figure!

SO not alone in this, ahaha I get very nervous waiting in the waiting room, the waiting seems to be the worse part of the experience. I calm down a bit once I get into the actual office. It's definitely anticipatory anxiety. I have had a few appointments the past few months and I have to admit that being exposed to it more than I have been in the past, I've seen a decrease in my level of anxiety while waiting, but I still get nervous.
