Hello- I am new to this site. I am wondering specifically about fear of being too happy or something bad might happen. I think sometimes I am right. I heard one of the men on the tapes say the same thing. I think this is such a big part of my depression.

Yes, I can definitely relate! On and off I have felt this way. The reason you do this is because you feel the need to protect yourself and you falsely believe that if you don't get too happy, you'll be able to better deal with what ever bad thing comes your way. YOU for the most part, don't control the disappointments in life. It really does come down to control and feeling out of control and that if something bad were to happen, you feel you wouldn't be able to handle it. The truth is, it would be hard but you WOULD be able to handle it probably even better than you think. We don't give ourselves enough credit for our strengths.
Do you feel as if you don't deserve to be happy? Could this be part of what you're feeling right now?
Enjoy the happy moments in life and if something bad does happen, it is not a result of being happy at one point. Good and bad happens to absolutely EVERY single human being on this planet, remember that.
