I'm very confused. Yesterday I went outside for hours with lots of people something i wouldn't do is be around alot of people riding around the roads outside in the open.

I've accomplished this and was proud though the people weren't so nice so i came home and broke down crying from them being rude to me just playing around though i took it a little serious.

Now its 3:36am here i can't sleep because im still a little anxious from today of what happened of me taking a big step. I am supose to go to church at 8:00. I normally get up around 12am. I'm trying hard to sleep but i am so anxious my heart is racing. I call my grandparents to tell them i can't make it and they tell me "when the lord comes he won't come for you".

Now this really upset me beyond anything... i feel hurt bad.

I have been taught that if i do this or don't do that i will go to hell if im not saved. I've been taught this and now with my anixiety every turn everythign i do i feel guilt. Like if i don't go to church its bad. They say if i hate someone then one of my family members will die. This scares me even more. I am full of fear with this. I try to look at the good side of christianity i do believe in god i believe he cares and he loves everyone and he wouldn't do all these horrible things. But now when i look at this and what she just told me on the phone.. I feel hurt and scared more than anything.

Is it really bad that i didnt go to church ?.... is something bad going to happen? i will get alot of guiltrip from my parents if i go see them from it and i will already feel guilty for not going more than anything.

Can somebody please help.. i feel alone alot all i have is my family and alot of them i can't talk to because they scare me alot and i know its anxiety but i wish they would support and understand me alot more.
If someone else would just give me their oppinion in this forum it would help give me some support. Right now i feel competely horrible and i feel like i need a friend.

I don't know what church you go to, but if they preach such crap I would be leaving. When the rapture comes all who believe in Jesus Christ will rise in the twinkling off an eye, If you believe you will go, Jesus doesn't care if you miss church, if you believe and lead you life the way it is layed out in the bible you will reach heaven, your family are very very hard, and no offence but I've often found these eccentric Christian types to be the worst sinners, let he who have not sin be the first to cast the stone.

Lostgirlx you should tell your family that's its your decision and that God isn't going to kill everyone. God isn't going to bring his wrath upon you just because you miss church. If He did that all the time, a lot of people would be dead right now. He cares about people more than that. I'm kind of surprised that your family actually believes that. God wouldn't want you to be constantly living in fear of Him, and He doesn't want you to have to feel anxious. I think you should try to look at God as a more caring and loving God who understands, rather than one that is going to punish you for everything you do, because that is the real one. Try not to feel guilty, because you really don't need to. If your family gives you a guilt trip, then try to let it go in one ear and out the other, because what they're telling you, sounds like a bunch of lies to me.

Oh, and I also agree with what schlappy said. Also I don't think your family is trying to be mean, they just obviously have been going to a church that teaches something like that. I actually have relatives who go to a church like that, and they've said to my family that if we don't go to their specific church then we will go to Hell, and that's just simply not true. God's the only one who can judge, not all the churches.

That really gave me alot of relief to read that. Thank you.

I will try to not be around them as much until a few days since i'm sure their mad at me and i'm still upset from what was said.

Hi lost girl and others,

There are a lot of Christians that suffer from guilt, shame and uncertainty regrading their salvation. This includes my 81 year old mother in law. She has been getting beat up by her daughter that tells her that her she is going to hell because she doesn't attend her church.

Please let me help you unload a lot of this baggage and bondage that has you befuddled because you would think that those that love you or you think love you would never beat you with fear, and ultimately serve to create doubt. It is this doubt and uncertain that stirs up so many negative emotions. Moreover, if they are telling you these things why would you want to attend a church that has teachers preaching this non-sense!

Answer these simple questions:

Do you believe that Jesus is the Son of God?
Do you believe that He step down from His throne suffered and died on the cross for your sins?
If you believe this then you have accepted Him!
Have you repented of your former ways, and received Jesus as your savior?
Have you openly confessed that Jesus is your Lord and Savior?

If you have answered affirmatively to those questions, pray for the Holy Spirit to come and dwell with you and make you His abode.

The Lord said seek and ye shall find; knock and the door shall be open unto you. Accept, repent and receive the free gift of eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, and it is done!

If you accept these, trust in the blood that was shed for you, because there is no other way to salvation. He is the truth, the way and the life, and no man comes to the father but through the son! Amen!

Not by church affiliation, not by good works least any man should boast, not by tithing, how despicable to think that anyone can buy their way or maintain their way into eternal life. Nothing but the blood of Jesus, will save anyone!

Let these things be settled in your mind, and when these nagging doubts are stirred up in your thoughts or by ill informed others, just say it out loud or in a soft voice, In the name of Jesus; Satan get behind me! Satan, you're a liar, murderer, and thief and we all know where you are going, and you have no power over me. Praise be to Jesus! and keep praising Jesus. This is the truth that shall make you free!

I pray that you took all this to heart and felt the freedom of His Spirit settle upon you and brought you His peace which surpasses all human understanding! Amen and Amen!

May the peace and joy of the Lord be with you and all these children reaching out to try to help you. God bless all of you!

Hey Sunshine,

First of all, let me congratulate you on going outside, even though it made you nervous. You will learn later in the CD's to "do it anyway even if you fear it." So congratulate yourself for that, big time!!!

As to the issues with God and religion, am I glad you got the program. There two people in the groups to whom you will completely relate. First is Carolyn--she said she folowed God out of fear, not love. That changed for her. Then there is Mike. Mike was a young theology student going to a very legalistic seminar. He was terrified that he was not good enough for God and that God would "get him". Then he realized that God is a God of love and completely changed his attitude toward God and it really helped with his anxiety. Who wouldn't be anxious thinking God will get you if you do something minor wrong?

God is in your heart and always with you, whether you are in church or out of church. He is so much bigger than us puny humans can even grasp that it is amazing. One thing you don't have to ever fear is God being mad at you --just read the New Testament. The only people who got Jesus really mad were the Pharisees, because they acted so self righteous.

I hope hearing these people on the CD's will set your mind at ease because they went through the same valley you are in right now. And they came out the other end getting rid of their anxiety.

Wow this kind of stuff just ticks me off, the whole church thing. Jesus paid the debt for all our sins, past, present, & future...PERIOD! His blood shed for us, to cleanse us from ALL unrighteousness, His body broken for us that we would be made whole. There is nothing that can be added to this FREE gift of salvation...IT WAS PAID IN FULL! Also, when we confess our sins, He is FAITHFUL & JUST to forgive us our sins the moment we repent.

You may have to keep your distance from these family members who are telling you lies. You see the enemy works through people to bring us down and yes even your own family!

I would like to encourage you to read your Bible, keep reading it, it will strengthen you and encourage you, feed your Spirit. Ask God for understanding of the scriptures, that His truth may be revealed to you! There is only ONE way to the Father & that is through His Son Jesus Christ, it has NOTHING to do with church attendance.

Here is a funny little quote I want to share with you:
"Going to church does not make you a Christian, no more than sitting in a garage would make you a car" :D Meditate on this for a bit...sounds rediculous doesn't it?

"May the Lord Bless You and Protect You. May the Lord Smile down on You and Be Gracious to You. May the Lord Show You His Favor and Give You Peace" ~Numbers 6:24-26~

Be Blessed!
