I wonder do any of you's suffer from this or indeed have a cure? I will explain what it is to clarify, I'm no psychologist so bear with me

The Sympathetic Nervous System controls the fight or flight response in an anxiety disorder, so say for instance you walk into a supermarket, its packed, the brain sends the signal to the sympatheic nervous system which in turn creates the symptoms of anxiety, IE heart beats faster, blushing, or whatever that may be, no in order to combat these symptoms CBT is used, so you use positive self talk such as,

Its ok, no one is looking at me, I'll go in do my shopping and all will be fine"

The brain then send the signal to the sympathetic nervous system that actually there is no danger here and the symptoms start to decrease.

So its the sympatheic nervous system that controls the symptoms of an anxiety disorder ok?

Right now, imagine the sympathetic nervous system had a mind of its own and decided to do what it wanted when in wanted, so in my case its blushing, So your sitting watching TV or something like that and all of a sudden your face is bright red for no reason, or another one I experience is my heart will sometimes start racing at night in be bed for no apparent reason this is what an overactive sympathetic nervous system is, Do any of you's suffer?

I get the heart palpitations when least expected for no apparent reason. The only thing I do is pray and use positive self-talk or reassuring Scriptures, saying them over and over in my head. It seems to calm my heart. I have to consciously slow down my breathing too.

Hi, just want to mention something very impotant and this migth be the culprit.
" acid reflux".. since the nervous system is overload it most of the time because of anxiety, we produce more gastric jucies and therefore we're prone to this deceased..i kept thinking for a long time why was i getting this palpitation especially at nite?( it was scary at times and confusing cuz you don't know what the problem is )..
even the doctors would tell me that everything was fine until I saw a gastroenterologist and finally i pin pointed what the real cause was!!
changed my diet and exercise, lost wait in the process, no anxiety and palpitation free...
