I have a job interview on Wednesday. It is making me feel anxious.
I have not been able to work since March of this year, mainly because of the anxiety. It would take most of my energy just to get ready in the morning and geto out of my house.
I started the program in July, I have been feeling better, and as Lucinda says, we can't wait to get better in order to start doing things. So in a crazy moment I accepted to go to this job interview on Wednesday. Now I am panicking.
Could anyone help?... Any ideas on how to control the anxiety?....

Hope -

There is a simple but effective way to handle this. It sounds like you decided to take this interview somewhat spontaneously, so I'm making the assumption that getting this job is not life or death. In that case, remind yourself that you can walk out at any time. In fact, you don't even have to go in to the interview. By knowing this, you'll likely feel much more in control and be able to handle things just fine.

Also, remember that we constantly underestimate our abilities and imagine things to be much worse than they really are. Head in to the interview as you've planned and take it minute by minute. You have all the power to make this happen. If it ends up that you only make it to the building but can't go in you're already much farther ahead of where you were just a few months ago. But I don't expect that to happen. I bet you'll get there and do great.

Good luck to you,
Jamie

Thank you Jamie.
You are right, it is not a life or death situation. I keep expecting so much of myself, not only to go to the interview but also to give a good impression. There is a part of me that thinks that I should go back to work and another that still doesn't want to.
Lets see how it goes.
Thank you very much for your encouragement.

My pleasure, Hope.

It's natural to feel some anxiety about going back to work. Change is something that people like us often have a difficult time dealing with. But there is nothing wrong with wanting more. If you are ready to go back to work, then by all means make it happen. It never hurts to try. We only lose out when we don't ever try.

I'm confident you'll do well. Best of luck to you!
