I live in southeastern Massachusetts and I am looking for a group like you hear about on the tapes. Does anyone go to such a group and if so how do you find one. you can email me directly if you have local information.

Your best bet would be to go through the yellow pages of your community and call therapists to see if they have ongoing support groups in your area for panic attacks, ocd or whatever you wish support in.

I have been going to a Emotions Anonymous meeting for a few months now and have found it very helpful in dealing with my anxiety. EA is a 12 step program for people suffering from anxiety and depression. The members are wonderful warm welcoming people, most of whom have been right where you are and have now found recovery. You might want to give it a shot. Here is a web link with a meeting list. Id be willing to bet there are a few groups in your area. Best of Luck,
CDO

also or google NAMI (national allience of the mentally ill). they have groups and are a great resource for other resources. emotions anonymous is pretty amazing though. i'd make it a point to get the book and go to the groups. it was one of the biggest keys in my recovery at one point. good luck sugar.

Hi CDO,
My name is Lee & I'm new to this program but have been in EA almost 12 years. It's been a lifesaver for me having found real dear friends in the program. I've talked about EA to others in the chat room as well but don't expect them to join a meeting because of me. I
just want to let them know it's out there & it's
always said that we can take what we like & leave the rest. I hope I can hear from you soon
as it'll be a treat to talk to someone who's in program like me
Take Care
