Does anyone have any tips on what to do when you are surrounded by negative people all the time, at work and at home? It is really hard to remain positive when you have negative people constantly bringing you down. Can anyone relate?

Yes, I know what it is like to work around negative people but being home without a job is almost harder.I usually tried to find someone that is positive and I found the younger people I worked with to be more positive and idealistic.I would go out on my lunch break and walk and talk to my boyfriend so I wouldn't have to listen to them complain.Hope this helps.I was pleasant but kept my distance from the negative ones.

Being around negative people brings you down. I had a girlfriend for over 25 years and she was always so negative about everything in her life. Well, her negativity rubbed off on me and brought me so much anxiety that I had to for once in my life stand up to her and break our friendship. It was one of the best things I ever did for myself. Get away from those people. Look for other positive people in your workplace and start talking with them. At home, well that's a different story. But you do not have to listen to it. Just go outside or to another room when a person at home is negative. Just excuse yourself. Good luck, Leopolda
