I get a sharp pain in the side of my head sometimes that only lasts for a second, a little above my ear on the left side. Could this be from tension in my neck or jaw? The pains scare me and happen mostly premenstrually.

It could be a number of things. You should get it checked by your doctor.

It is pre-menstral. I have major headaches and back aches. I am almost 50 and I still forget the signs. Stress headaches that can sometimes feel like migraines a week, sometimes two weeks before your cycle, so it makes us so confused. And considering we have stress and anxiety it's hard to figure out which one is causing this headache. I am not a doctor, but this one I am almost 100% sure about. Warm baths, low lights and soothing music help me with those...unless it's a real migraine (which I do get) then coolness, and extreme quiet...LOL I hopes that helps you.

Thank you, your response makes me feel better. PMS week is usually a bad week for me!
