I'm new here but have been self medicating for years. I stay away from alcohol and zero drugs.
My prescription, I have my own business online so I work from home. I keep a Total Gym about 10 feet away, hand weights and those hand squeezy things. I keep pictures of things I want on my wall Ski House, Boats , piles of money and business execs on the phone calling to buy my biz for millions.
Sounds nutty but it helps me. Sometimes I work out 10 times a day. Helps with the anxiety. Alocohol and drugs are the worst but by 7:00 pm it's hard to stay away.

Why do I keep putting myself in this position? I find it very hard to have a social life and not drink. Its a horrible cycle and I'm having a tough time getting out of the routine.

next time you go out, try drinking less. i just mean don't see it as either drinking or no social life. try going out and having a social life and drinking less. Work on cutting down how much you drink when your out. You'll save money and feel a bit better in the morning

Hence why I don't have a social life, for me it was one or the other, Bars are really not enjoyable places sober
