hi....so since last thrusday my left arm has been hurting on and off. thursday i did do some different exercises with weights, but im not sure if that is why it is hurting or not. friday night it kept me up half the night because i thought for sure i was having a heart attack or something. sometimes i get random pains in it or sometimes it just feels really tense or something. im only 22 and i just had a physical and blood tests that checked out ok, but i am still worried that i am going to have a heart attack! can anyone relate?

I can definitely relate to your health anxiety. And...the more concern you have over a "symptom" either the worse it gets or the longer it stays.

I understand that completely!

Cara, I can also relate to that problem, actually I would say that many people in this program can relate as well. People like us like Lucinda says in Session 1 of your guidebook pg.3,"People suffering from anxiety disorder often have extreme apprehensions aboutthe following: dying, having a heart attack, fainting [etc...]". I'm only finishing Lesson 3 this week, and I had a problem like you with my left arm hurting sometimes. I had blood test done like a year and half ago for cholesterol, and it was fine, then recently I went to the Doctor few months ago and told him that my left arm hurt sometimes and that I wanted to see a cardio specialist or heart specialist, then he ask me a couple questions regarding my health, and he said: "you answer "no" to all my questions, I CANNOT send you to a specialist BECAUSE THERE IS NOT A MEDICAL REASON WHY YOU SHOULD GO, you don't have heart problems, I can't send you." So, after that, I thought it was a relive, but I continue thinking about it till I order that program, and I read what I told you, and also, because I read that when you have stress, or just because you are ALIVE, you will have aches here and there and its ok. So, now by knowing that I obsses with things like these because of my personality, the only thing I can do, is to stop thingking about it,and give permition to my body to feel these pains sometimes, and I notice they go away easely, because I forget about them. So, that's my advise. But, I recomend you if you are really concern, just make an appointment with your regular Dr. or with a specialist if you can, and just get it check so you feel better.

What do you know , my message actually came up on screen.we have prayer meeting Teu. nite so ai can hardly wait to get there . Then when i get home it's time for bed and another day is gone . Its no fun just waiting for the day to end so you can take your meds and go to sleep. I surely can sympathize with some of you who have had "A' for years. don't know how you did it. I've only had mine for 2 1/2 yrs and , do think the program is helping me. wonder if personal coaching would help. Any feedback on that ernajoy

I have pain all of the time in my arms, and for the past few years, I've been able to do a better job of talking myself out of thinking it's a heart problem. I exercise like you, and I have to handle my ten year old son who has autism. I'm always hurting something, but sometimes I just forget what all I did that would cause the pain. It looks like you may be doing that with exercise. I just know from all I've learned that unless a 22 year old is doing cocaine or some type of drug like that or has a congenital heart defect that would have been definitely detected in your tests, you're just not going to have a heart attack:). Oh, if I could be 22 and know what I know now about that:). I hope this program helps you enjoy being young and healthy:).
Take Care,

Hello cara.

About a month ago I was experiencing the exact same thing. My arm was sore and it took a few days for me to remember that I had worked on my arms a few days before that. It eventually went away after about another week. It was just sore muscles.

Cara,

I go through pains all the time and they play with my head, though I wonder at times if the head is simply causing the pain.

It is quite difficult to go through these pains on a daily basis and try and keep my head about me.

I think most of us here completely understand.

Keep your head up.
