I've just stumbled upon this site and am learning about "the program" which sounds wonderful by the way. I've suffered with Anxiety and Panic for 15 years, without meds, and still trying to fix me. I'm good for a few years then bam, back to the basics of stress management. Anyway, i've experienced a very disturbing physical effect of my stress/panic... along with a panic attack of course, i hear things in my surroundings in slow motion and it lasts about 1 to 2 minutes. It is very bothersome and scarey but would give me a small bit of comfort to know if anyone else has felt this before? What did you do to stop it from lasting so long? I have seen my doctor (who prescribed Effexor?) and am starting therapy again. Being a worrier, am reluctant to try meds and have read some scarey posts about going on and off of them.
Thank you all for you time and i appreciate your response.

I've also had the slow motion episodes like you describe. They are very scary. I also have panic attacks and lots of other weird physical sensations including floating, muffled hearing, spinning sensations, all kinds of scary stuff. It has all gotten better following session 2. Even though I still have them along with the panic attacks, I'm not as scared of them anymore. You're definitely not alone. Focus on session #2. You may feel worse before you feel better, but hang in there. Good luck!

better.

WOW!! That is really cool. I am going to use this the next time I feel "funny" which will happen very soon, I'm sure, probably at work tomorrow. Thank you for the "re-frame".

So glad I could offer something to help you guys.

This condition isn't easy or fun (I just had a 'depressive episode' on and off throughout this week) but with support and love, we'll get there!
