Hi, all--
I'm finding with the huge work stress and significant financial issues that have reared their heads, I am regressing. Poor sleep, worry all the time, afraid of the future, anxiety all day. I am having trouble focusing on the tapes due to these other mental distractions. Any ideas?

Sounds like you and I are living parallel lives.
I find that the only way I feel better is if I actively work on my recovery every single day, whether it be listening to the CDs, doing homework, reading one of my books, journaling, practicing relaxation, etc.
I've been slacking off and my anxiety has come back big time.
Keep working at it. Patience is KEY!

Have you ever seen the movie Patch Adams. Maybe you can rent it tonight. Comedy is great for depression and anxity. Focusing on all problems is the worst thing I can do about problems. Try to find something else to think about. None of the other stuff will go away, but taking time out of the wirl pool of trouble for a little while may help you see the solution instead of the problem.Good luck.

Thanks, ladies. I just have to come up with time to do the CDs and focus. I definitely need a comedy movie-good advice.

I'm also having a hard time "finding the time" to listen to the CDs. I think I'm going to put them on my iPod and listen to them whenever I'm driving somewhere. If you have a CD player in your car, listen to them when you're driving to and from work. This is going to be my new strategy. Maybe it could work for you too.
If you need a good comedy, I'd recommend Sorority Boys. It is HILARIOUS!

The economy is the biggest source of my anxiety. Started back in July when we lost our business. I've come to that point, you know, the ebb and flow of life. That this too shall pass and is completely out of my hands. The only thing I can do is the best of my abilities and if that's not enough, I will learn new ones. This is not forever. This can even turn out to be a situtation for growth. Quit watching the news, try <A HREF="
