Please help! Since yesterday I've been getting these "chest flutters". I get them every so often, where they kind of take my breath away. It's not palpitations; it’s like a flutter, or almost a void feeling in the middle of my chest, for just a second. It makes me have to take a deep breath. Like I said, I get them every so often, but since yesterday, I've been feeling it a lot. It's not one of my usual anxiety symptoms, but it does induce a little panic. I'm trying to remain calm and stop convincing myself that I need to run to the doctor. I know I'm under some stress right now, I think that may be why this is happening...but it would really put my mind, and hopefully my body, at ease to know that other people experience this and that it is in fact a symptom of anxiety. Please help; the more I worry about it, the more its happening!!

Take a few minutes and do your deep breathing. Afterwards, watch and see if you are holding your breath. I get this when I have anxiety and I notice that I am not breathing properly. If I do my slow deep breathing for several minutes, it goes away. Good luck! I know how hard this can be. It most likely is the stress you are under.

Hi there! My suggestion would be to make an appt. w/ your doc. It won't hurt to let he/she know what's going on and have it checked! I DID feel ALOT of my anxiety in my chest and I was 99% sure that's what it was but that 1% gave me more anxiety(worrying). I made the appt...chest x-ray,ekg,bloodwork...only took a SHORT amount of time and KNOWING that anxiety was the cause helped to break that vicious cycle of chest pain. Hope this helps!Good luck!
