Hey guys...I was on here often a while back (kencan98 was my name) but for some reason the log in thing wont take my email and pass...Anyway...Tonight I'm taking my first dose of Xanax (.25MG). I must admit, Im kind of nervous about it, but I figured the positives must outweigh the negitives. I finished the program and I've been 1000 times better with my panic, but Im expecting a baby any day now (due on the 15th) and Im kind of nervous about the delivery room. My doctor gave me .25 MG of Xanax. Heres my question...I dont have health insurance because Im self employed (own websites) and they want like 1,000 a month. My wife has health insurance for her and my daughter (the one we are expecting) through the state. My doctor charges 30 dollars a visit and the local mental health doctors charge upwards of 125 a visit. Is it bad that I am getting my meds from my regular doctor and not a psychologist? Im doing this strictly for cost purposes and I will only take the Xanax if I get panicky in the delivery room (im taking one tonight just so I know how to effects me BEFORE the birth just in case I need it). After my baby is born, I will not be taking it.

Thanks everyone!

I have xanxax prescribed to me by my internal medicine doctor so that is fine.

Since this is the first time you are taking .25mg of xanax--I would recommend cutting in half(.125mg) when you are in the delivery room because you want to be calm but you want to be able to assist and be alert. You may be extremely drowsy with the .25mg dosage since you are not used to taking that. Plus when I first started on .25mg i was stumbling around and could barely function. :o

Let me know if this info helps. Congrats to you and your wife!!! :O) You and your family will be just fine:O)

God Bless

Hi, I have my Xanax prescription through my internist. I take .25 when I am overly anxious, etc. It really does take the edge off. I am excited for you. Having a baby is both exciting and stressful at the same time. You will all be fine. God Bless your new little family!!
