I know a person who works at at school. This person is not protected by a union because of his job. However, many other employees of this school are. This worker has been verbally harassed by another worker who came on board. This person's autocratic boss wanted to keep it from getting to HR so he had everyone involved write up a memo. Then he met with the abuser and not the person who was abused. Later one he heard that the autocrat criticized the abused in the meeting.
Everything has been going great for several months now. But now this worker is starting to gossip about this worker again. It's terrible. The autocrat even pointed out to the abused that he should get along with the person who accosted him verbally. Clearly this autocrat boss is biased against this individual and what he does for a living.
Is there any legal protection for this worker? He is working on yearly contract. Should he hire a lawyer?
