I'm on session 3 and I love it! I just am curious about a couple of minor issues:
Are we supposed to listen only to the particular relaxation CD that came with the program or can we use any relaxation CD's? I'm just finding it hard to concentrate on the same one day after day after day. I need to change it up.

I don't think it would hurt to listen to other relaxation CD's. I have a few of them myself. My psychologist gave me some. Everyone is different, it may take a combination of things to help.

You can listen to other ones if you choose. Most people get too use to the same tape (usually, not as fast as you did) but make sure that you still listen to Lucinda's as well. It serves a purpose in the program. Progressive muscle relaxation "trains" your body to relax on it's own. So that when you're away and get anxious, your body will automatically relax.

Hi Kitkat,
Yes for sure listen to anyone that helps you relax that is all that is important. Sometimes it is hard to listen to the same one over and over again. Listen to it though as much as you can for sure a few times a day at least until you get over half way through the program. So great you are lesson 3 keep up the good work.
Good luck and God bless

I have a few different ones that I alternate. Sometimes I go through all of them in the same day. I couldn't listen to the same one over and over. I have one guided imagery cd that is wonderful and my cat likes it too.

I found a website that has relaxation tapes that I enjoy very much. It is called Meditainment. Apparently, the airlines use these tapes. It is sort of a guided meditation or imagery, like being on a tropical island, or walking in a beautiful forest. The web address is mediheaven.com. They have samples if you want to try them.
I have been using Lucinda's tape morning and evening, but I use other things, like affirmations and meditations during the day if I feel up tight.
Years ago I was taught how to hypnotize myself in order to get rid of migraine headaches. I have used this ever since for not only pain but also tension.
If you do a search on relaxation or meditation I think you will find tons of different things that may help you.

Thanks, guys, for your responses. I'm going to look into these. I need a variety and I think it will help hold my attention better.

I use others as well...I prefer lucindas relax cassette to the cd but I use them both I also like a lady called Louise Hays she has a great one overcoming fears and positive affirmations.
And theres another lady called Bell Ruth Naperstack and she does one called Healthy sleep.
Lucindas is hands down my favorite but I use these as well when I need something different...also I find that piano or harp music is very soothing and uplifting. I agree with mimigirl and the point is to relax and anyway that we slow down and do that is a good thing.
