ANYONE HAVE SOME UPLIFTING WORDS FOR SOMEONE WHO JUST HAD SOOOOOOO VERY MANY INSTANCES OF ANXIETY THIS WEEK IT'S not EVEN FUNNY??????I'VE BEEN SOO PROUD OF MYSELF FOR DOING ALRIGHT AND STARTING THE PROGRAM AND I TRIED A COUPLE NEW SITUATIONS THAT I WOULD HAVE (3WKS. AGO) AVOIDED AT ALL COSTS BUT THEY DIDN'T GO WELL---FULL OF ANXIETY AND LEFT ME W/ A REAL NEGATIVE VIEW OF MYSELF. ANY ADVICE OR WORDS OF ENCOURAGEMENT WOULD SOOO BE APPRECIATED!

hello,
just remember progress takes time, don't give up. i remember lucinda saying expect progress to look something like this....it's two step back and one step forward. don't be ashamed to get additional support to get you through the rough moments. we will get through it, follow the skills, be persistent and consistent. don't give up. take every negative thought in captivity, bring them under the submission of what's true, right, noble, positive, excellent, praiseworthy.

thank you terry08! I really really appreciate that! It's so funny but Lucinda really nailed it when she said we are constantly searching for everyone's "approval"---Support when trying to get past all this is sooo much nicer! thanks again and good luck to you!

We've all had some setbacks along the way and it never seems to be a straight line even though we want it to be. It zigzags a lot. You tried a couple new things that you said you would have avoided at all costs three weeks ago. This is progress. Tell yourself you're proud of yourself for trying, and then try again. Slow down on the sessions if you have to. I spent two weeks on sessions 3 and two weeks on session 12.

liz27. You are a person who is dealing with anxiety issues. Set backs are normal. Terry08 and Mary Wargo are right, congratulate yourself and celebrate the small things. Week 3 is all about positive self-talk. It takes time, heck I am still carrying around my notebook to turn negatives into positives. Hang in there, you can do it.

My only advice is that no matter the anxiety keep plugging away. Keep going thru the steps and the positive thinking. In time you'll realize that it doesn't matterr and that everyone gets anxious...its all in how you deal with the fear that makes the difference.

Hi Liz,
So many great posts and full of wonderfull suggestions as usual.I will likely just end up repeating but who cares...right!
Go back to session 3 and spend a day or more listening to the cd and watch the DVD of Lucinda for that session over and over again. I found it the hardest so far and took the most time with it...so far.
Don't beat yourself up if your expectaions were not all you wanted from something you accomplished. The main thing is YOU DID THEM
That took courage, and likely lots of it so be good to yourself, reward yourself, and when ready try again. Look at it this way...we didn't get this way in a day, it took years so how or why should we expect everything to go just perfect after 3 weeks. IT's BABY STEPS...& being greatfull for each and every positive step we take. You have courage, don't get frustrated and don't give up...EVER!!
YOU WILL GET THERE!!!
We will all help.
Deb
