I've had non-stop pain in the left carotid artery for the past 18 months. It's so frightening! I'm new to the program admittedly because I am desperate for an answer.
Does anyone else suffer from this real, shoulder up to the ear kind of throbbing? I am lost as to what to do next. Bless you all for being a part of this community. I feel like I'm not alone, for the first time in 2 years.

P.S. Self medicating with alcohol is the only relief I get. I have kids and can't continue in this.

Lea, You are right! You are not alone. We are here to help you heal as we help ourselves. In regard to your pain, I am going to assume you have been to a doctor for this pain. If not, then go have it checked out. If you get relief from alcohol which helps the body to relax, then I would assume you have a nerve or muscle issue. I have neck pain when I am tense. Usually it starts from my lower back and works it's way up. I would suggest you use the relation tape and the breathing exercises. They will help you to reduce your stress.
