I've been doing some research lately to try and find out why I could be getting headaches (started all prior to anxiety) and I found this info.
My family recently started drinking "sugar-free" drinks b/c husband was just diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes, so we've all been making small strides to better ourselves. Crystal lite is wonderful and there are many other brands on the market that are very similar. I personnally drink on average about 65-70 oz of water a day. I'm lactose in tolerant and stay away from all soda, so a sugar free alternative to water is a nice break for me! Needless to say, after drinking these drinks for a few months I have been getting headaches so bad they have landed me in the ER! I have had to get injections twice to stop the headache pressue! So I started reading the back of the label more carefully and found most of them to contain Aspartame, which has been found to cause many of the symptoms many of us are experiencing. Aspartame is found in soft drinks, juices, candy, many things. I copied a website I found really informative (esp where it talks about headaches and panic attacks!) and if anyone has any other questions I really suggest looking into further. I know I will be asking my dr at my next appt. Anything is worth a shot right!?

Good Luck!

Stevia is the only sweetner I use nowadays. Years ago, I would drink "diet" soda....I swear after a few days I would get panic attacks and feel soo weird and that was the decaffienated kind. You have to watch all of those artificial sweetners.
