Anyone else in the Stress and dealing with some storm anxiety? Let's all talk here! I am a little nervous about it.

Ah Kari, remember what we teach others about storms? Relax, turn on music, keep an eye to the sky & local weather info and you'll be ok. :)

My turn comes tomorrow, already got the info in here as to what we may get....large hail, damaging winds, possible tornado's, but it'll move on through just like all the other storms have done in the past.

You're gonna be fine Kari. I'll try to stop in again later or during the day tomorrow and see how you are.

David (Tornado Chaser..and I'm not kiddin). :)

Thanks, David. That makes me feel better. I don't know what it is about storms, but they really give me bad anxiety. I've got my air on, the patio door closed and the shades closed, as much fans on as possible to drown out noise and i'm going to turn music or a movie on loud. lol

Evening Kari, from what I see on radar for your area you're in the clear now at least for now, you are however still under a tornado watch but the main line is to your east.

Multiple tornado and thunderstorm watch boxes in effect right now from Canada to Mexico, all across the northern, central, and southern Stress so if anyone lives in this region of the USA please check your local weather and stay on top of it as much as you can now and through the night.

We've been watching one severe cell that's crossing southern Illinois now. This one has spawned 2 confirmed touchdowns (tornado); 1 wall cloud (the parent or beginning of a funnel cloud) and 1 funnel cloud (tornado in the air is a funnel cloud, becomes a tornado when and if it touches ground). At 9:40 est (8:40 pm cdt) a tornado warning is in effect for this region:

HE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN PADUCAH HAS ISSUED A

* TORNADO WARNING FOR...
SOUTHWESTERN WILLIAMSON COUNTY IN SOUTHERN ILLINOIS...

* UNTIL 915 PM CDT.

There is active weather all along this line so everyone again, listen to your local tv, radio station, and weather media for updates throughout the night and tomorrow.

And I'm still waiting for all of this to get to the Ohio River Valley tomorrow.

Great Kari! :) Now enjoy tonight.

Here is a map of every county in the USA, click on your state/county and specific weather information will come up for you.

<A HREF="http://www.nws.noaa.gov/largemap.php" TARGET=_blank>http://www.nws.noaa.gov/largemap.php</A>

Yellow on the map means tornado watch boxes; purple/lavendar = severe thunderstorm watch boxes; orange boxes or polygons = severe thunderstorm warnings and red polygons = tornado warnings. A short tutorial on how to read that map fast. :)
