I have acid Reflux and GERD! When I start feeling the heartburn and pressurein my chest I instantly think it is heart related and I usually go into panic. I to worry about esophegus erroision and cancer. I have been on Nexium for four years. one the doctors said that it could all be related to my anxiety disorder. Since nervous stomach is what starts all the acid flowing in the first place.
I hope it helps you to know that you are not alone.
Take care,
Water

I thought most of the people on this forum has had a bout of acid reflux, or at least a few months ago they did. I have it terribly. Water can really give you bad heart burn, but of course the health benefits of drinking it outway the heart burn. I take gaviscon for heart burn and indigestion. I eat a small bowl of cereal when it gets real bad, especially before going to bed. Oatmeal is good also. But the gaviscon really puts out the fire for me. I hope you feel better soon,

Lately TOmmy I have had acid reflux and my pharamcist has suggested I take Prilosec...it's a 14 day med that treats acid reflux. Ask your doctor or pharamist what would be best for you. Take care and good luck.

Hi, I have severe SILENT acid reflux. I went to a specialist for being dizzy and choking all the time..which of course my med docs blamed on the anxiety. When he did the scope deal, he asked if I ever had heartburn, I said very rarely, then he told me I was "full of junk". He put me on Prevacid. I've been on it about a month now and can tell a little bit of improvement with no side effect at all. He told me I would need to be on it at least 3 or 4 months to see a complete difference.
Have a nice day! :)

Tommy g,

"Losing my mind," is a very scary thought and I bet your stomach shot out a huge amount of acid when you thought that. Lesson 3!!!! Please! get moving on lesson 3. Read a couple of books on the mind-body connection.
