Ok, maybe this sounds weird. I may have to have 6 teeth pulled soon and of course I'm very scared. But.... here's the kicker - Its not the work being done that I'm afraid of.
I have this completely irrational fear of throwing up, passing out or losing physical control. I also have a hard time with medication - the nitrous gas almost made me throw up once and now I'm terrified of it.
I'm considering doing the conscious sedation route - where they give you a pill (like Halcion) and you just relax through the procedure.
However, I'm so scared of medicine. I'm afraid I'll take the Halcion and it will make me sick or I'll throw up. Or I'll take it and my brain will fight so hard against it that it won't work and I'll end up worse than before.
Has anyone been through this? Any experiences with the sedation meds? Suggestions? Thank you so much.
