I know this is a paranoid question, but is there a way to see if someone is slandering you on the web (God forbid)?
I know a person can google stuff, but there are some forums that won't be picked up by google spiders, at least I think there are.

I wouldnt worry to much about that. Even the very slight chance they were that just goes to show how boring there life must be.

Hi Songwriter,
I do not want to make light of your concern, and tend to agree with Naustin. Nevertheless, I encourage you to think or ask yourself: Am I needlessly obsessing about a what if?
If you're hard pressed to find out the answer, just type your own name in the google search field, and see where their maybe public forums or web pages where your name appears (good or bad). I don't think there are search spiders that can give you results that may be found in private forums, as they require password entrance to the secure (private) inter or intranets.
I think you may be over thinking this one, but you may feel you must know, so check it out.
One of the members of this forum (Shifrah) has a great signature line. It goes something like this: I can't control the wind(s) but I can control the sails.
I liken your situation to one that should think about that signature. You can not control what others may say or think about you, but you can control your own thoughts or actions. Life is too short to waste even a precious moment worrying about something you can't do anything about, thus, refocus your energy on the positive things you can do something about.
I don't know how spiritual you may be, but I used to read psalms and proverbs everyday and then re-cycle the study every 30 days. I would read 5 psalms and 1 proverb every day. I learned and found that there are many shared life experiences found there. I know that in the Old King James Version the English may seem hard to follow, so you may want to study a newer type version such as the Life Recovery Bible, but one of the best advices I found regarding a similar circumstance to yours is, if you find that someone is slandering you (in the bible they would call it cursing you) is to bless those that curse you, and the end result would be that the curse would come down on that person's head as a heap of hot burning coals. I know it sounds odd, strange or funny, but picture it in your minds eye. Bless the person that curses you, then let it go, and God will dispense the appropriate judgment on the offender.
Many would be shocked to find many sayings like this as blessings and curses, and then there are many homespun type advices that seem quite humorous.
Perhaps, you ought to try that in this circumstance. Bless those that may be slandering/cursing you, let it go and let God handle it, then go out and live the life you are meant to have. Song, Dance and love life and all the beauty of the moment(s) you have.
I pray for you complete recovery from all the negativity that may come your way. I pray that you learn to turn all the bad things that may come your way by simply blessing them and those that you feel may cause you harm, and that you learn to let them go, let God handle it, and live and enjoy the life that God wants you to enjoy, and that God richly bless you with all the good things He has in store for you.
Go out and make it a great day.
Hugs,

Good post, Gman. I agree songwriter. Holding grudges puts you and me in an emotional prison of our own making. Letting go of offenses, forgiveness, sets us free. I blow it sometimes myself and i need to be less affected by offensive words. Most of the time getting upset simply is not worth the emotional cost and it plays right into the hands of the offender who seems to ususally not give a darn that we have been offended.
You have experienced some difficult circumstances. Most of us do. Standing up for ourselves in a calm, controlled manner with respect for the other person can be appropriate at times. But we can't control how the other peson will respond. Once we have done that we have to just let it go.
Hope you have a good Sunday.

Thank you!!! I am, and have been for a time, in a situation where I sure needed to hear just what you posted. Those words were definitely meant for me.
Again, thank you so much!!!
That was so excellent.
I knew those things. I did. But I couldn't get outside my own fears. Until I read your words on this. . I wish there was someway that I could save your post but I don't know how to get it off of here.
You should have a great day, you've sure improved mine.

Hi Cornflower and others,
Thanks for those words of encouragement and confirmation. You made me super happy that I was able to share that with everyone and now I know that the Lord is working and in and through me to make a positive impact on some one.
You can save a copy of the post, by simply selecting the reply with quote> right click in the reply window and select all > right click and select copy> open a blank page word document> right click and select paste into the word document. Then you can discard the reply post, as you accomplished what you wanted to do. Afterwards, you can handle the word document with the post you wanted (not just mine but anyone's you find you may want to do that with), edit, format and whatever you wish to do with the document and then do a save as, name and store document where you know you can find it. I hope that helps.
I apologize if much of the above is something you already know but just didn't think of or remember.
I think I will re-establish my former practice of studies on psalms and proverbs. Thanks again for the encouragement and may God bless you and all of the loved ones in your life.
Hugs,
