Stress Center Peer Support

Hi all. Lately, I keep feeling as if my heart is dropping. I think that's the best way to describe it. It's the same feeling as what happens when you're on a roller coaster, or if you're startled in the car by a near miss, etc.

This is a new symptom, just popped up recently. It happens out of the nowhere, for what seems to be no reason. It also happens a lot at night when I am trying to sleep. It makes me literally jump up.

Anybody else ever have this??

I can relate to that feeling. You described it well Rowan. I don't have a medical reason why that happens, but I sure understand what your talking about. The first time that I felt that was when I was placing my toddler into the bathtub. It scared me so bad, that I called for my husband who said, you know its your anxiety why do you always freak out.. I got a little mad but relized he was right and that I was fine. Remember your breathing when it happens and try to relax that seems to help me otherwise I can wind up having an anxiety attack from worrying. It may put you more at ease to get a physical if you haven't had one in awhile. I finally got one and I feel better about some of my anxiety symptoms. Hope this helps a little.
