I too have an issue with my pulse, my husband thinks I'm so weird because of this. When I had a miscarriage before I kept having one panic attack after another and my pulse got up to 180 in the hospital. It seemed the more aware I was of my heart racing and seeing it on the computer monitor the faster it got. I can't run on the tread mill because it terrifies me if I take my pulse and it is high. I don't feel all alone any more, I guess other people are like me too.

I was just in the hospital with a stomach/colon ulcer and my heart has always acted up with anxiety for years. The more I watched my echo/ekg on the computer screen literally the worse it got. It was some realization that it is anxiety. My ekgs look like this - my heart races, pauses, and catches up ^^^^....^^.^.^.^.^.^^^^^^^.......^.^.^.^. I hope you understand the visual

You're far from being alone i have this problem really bad im far to aware of my pulse and i check it all the time.. To be honest i did right before i read this messege.. It's a bad habbit that i think once i get over will help my anxiety but it's hard.. whenever i feel like something is wrong i check my pulse right away.. have had plenty of ekg's and all that and im always fine so remember you're not alone..

wow...I couldn't believe the title of this thread at first. I am the same exact way, in fact this sets the tone for my day. i wake up in the morning and I check my pulse. I'm allready nervous starting my day, and a good dose of coughing and gagging just ramps my pulse up even more. I'll check it all the way to work, just in time to induce some full blown anxiety and I have to leave the office and return home. I know I have no heart issues, but it just doesn't feel goos to have your heart racing. I don't care if it's harmless or not !!!!!!!!!!!!1

I was that way for a long time peace and joy. When I started having my panic attacks doctors would tell me I need to excersize more, but still I was afraid because of my pulse, but in reality your heart is made to be able to handle these fast pulses. You are not alone, and you will be fine.

I am so amazed after reading this post I could cry tears of happiness! I get worried when my heart races due to my anxiety. Im scared it could affect my hearts health and I wouldnt be able to tell the difference between an panic attack and a heart attack. I am SO relieved to know im not alone.
