About six months ago I was very anxious and having very strong intense panic attacks. Then after a really bad one, it was like I just felt blah, I wasn't, happy, sad, or even anxious. During this time I didn't sleep for like 5 days, but what was wierd was I never felt really tired, just very spacey and disassociated and developed these horrible headaches wright at the base of my head. I still feel blah and have not had a panic attack since. I am slso still having trouble sleeping. I hope this isn't perminent. If anyone else has kind of gone through the same thing please let me know. I kind of feel like I'm the only one

Hi,
I think you should see a medical professional that can give you something to sleep or maybe you should take this opportunity to get an herbal supplement, if you are not on medications, before you see your doctor.
I have a topic on natural alternatives and supplements in the prescription medicine forum. You may what to start there as there are many links I provide there.
I don't want to comment on what I think it could be as I am not a medical professional, but I would suggest prayer.

Have you been to talk with someone about this? You may also want to go have a physical just to get that out of the way.
How long have these dissoriented feelings lasted? I would talk to your GP about this. It doesnt sound like you are depressed though. The headaches are what throw me off.

Oh how is your sleeping now? The lack of sleep may have caused the feelings.

I have had a physical and blood tests everything came out fine. I'm just wondering if I should get a hormone test to see if I'm imbalanced. The head aches come and go and are not persistant, they started after the severe anixious episodes, the back and sides of my head and neck would feel flush and have spider like pains. I also have days where I can't sleep, but other days when I do but I will wake up a couple times a night. Since those episodes I have not fell into a deep sleep like I once did. It seems like I just don't have the emotions that I once had. I slso lost like 20 pounds in 6 weeks.

I would for sure get your hormones checked. When my anxiety began(March of last year) it was right after my son was born and I had taken the depoprovera shot. I had mine checked and I had no progestrone and high levels of estrogen. So that could for sure be the cause. Right after my panic attacks began I had a really hard time sleeping. I started to take Tylonol PM to help and that would give me until about 4am then I was up. I have not had sleeping issues in a while. I stopped taking the Tylonol a couple weeks after my sleep began to get better. I am sorry you are feeling that way. I really wish I could say something to get a really good laugh out of you. Feel better. It wont last forever.

Hi all,
I believe Naustin is thinking like I am thinking. That why I suggested herbal supplements before seeing the Doctor. I am not a Doctor, but I have seen enough of these things to know that sleep deprevation breaks down the body's immune system, and may cause many of the symtoms you mentioned.
The reason this may be happening is that your serratonin levels may be out of whack, and maybe your hormones too. Try something like
Rescue Relief to see if this may help. Click on the product and find the ingredients and see if you are taking anything that may not allow you to tolerate them. You can check for
Contraindications and Side effects, here.
I think the only one that you may have to worry about is Kava Kava. This synergestic blend may be just what you need to get your seratonin levels back to give your body a chance to rest. If this does not work, then you may need to get something riskier and stronger from you Doctor.
I really hope the Rescue Relief helps you to get the sleep you so badly need.

Thanks for that information. This is why you need to discuss this with you doctor. Your doctor can have lab testing done to monitor liver, as he would have to do with medication to lower cholesterol.
The difference is that it sometimes takes many years to develop problems in the liver. Other over the counter meds that people take every day that may also cause liver problems are, tylenol, advil, aleve and all NSAIS that are of prescription. Many of those NSAIS also cause ulcers, thinning of the intestinal walls and other nasty things.
Nevertheless there are other sources that look at other material factors that may have squed several of these results.
It must be noted, however, that the individuals experiencing liver damage may already have had liver damage before taking the kava supplements or may have taken kava in large doses and for longer than recommended. Some drank heavily, while others were taking prescription medications ... Other side effects associated with kava appear to be mild and infrequent...
BTW, I rechecked the ingredients list on Rescue relief and kava kava was not listed. There is another natural treatment that has kava kava and you would be ingesting of kava kava is 200mg per day total and the manufacturer cautions not to exceed the dosage.

Thanks for at least looking into this 2002 report, and I wish others were as proactive on researching their own medical prescriptions, including discussion(s) these choice with a medical professional.

I actually went to the emergency room back in Oct. after that 5 day stint of not getting sleep, they did a blood test and my liver cell was fine, then about 3 mo later had another blood test and everything was fine. I have been sleeping pretty good in the past couple days
