Hello!I was just wandering if after any of you have had blood drawn if you had a lump where they drew it?I know that this can happen and that there can be bruising but I had no bruising or soreness.I just have this soft lump and it's going on a month sense I had the blood drawn.I called the Dr.and he said that it was normal but of course I'm having doubts.I mean why would I still have a lump after a month? If anyone can help ease my mind that would be great!Thank-you!!

This is one of those practice opportunities for you! You were pro-active in calling your Dr. and that's great! Now, it's about replacing that what-if every time it pops up; even if it's a ton! Your brain wants to focus on it, but don't entertain it. It's SOOOOO hard, believe me I know. If you get this worry calmed down because someone tells you something that makes you feel better, there's going to be another one come up down the road. It's up to you to break the pattern!
I know you just wanted comfort and not this advice, but it's important to hear and I'm having to do the same things you are with worries.

Hi!You are right!I mean that is what got me into this anxiety mess in the first place.Dwelling on everything!Thank you for putting me back in check.Sometimes our minds just start to run on us.You know the "what if this?"and"What if that?"Thank you again for reminding me to stay focused on what i like to say to myself is "one more step forward!"Take care!

This happened to my sister as well after an IV. She had several lumps up her arm for months afterwards, to the point that her doctor removed one and biopsied it. Just normal tissue that was irritated and swollen along the vein. Chin up!

I had a lump on my arm and was freaking myself out about it. I was thinking the worst, i.e., that it was cancer or something.
I went to the doctor and he told me that it was just a fat deposit and could be removed right in the doctors office and that it was quite common.
Just goes to show you that usually things we worry about are just in our mind and not really worth worrying about in the first place.
