Hello all - Can anyone give me any information on prozac. The doc put me on 10mg for anxiety. I was having trouble breathing and heart palpatations and he did an EKG on my heart and of course listened to it and told me everything looked good. I have suffered from anxiety for about 2 yrs now. I used to take lexapro and I loved it, but I gained a lot of weight so the doc weaned me off of it and put me on xanax. I take a small dose of that also. He said that my shortness of breath and heart palpatations is me having the physical symptoms of anxiety without the thought of it. I know it sounds weird. I was wondering if I should even start the prozac. He said it would also help my PMS that is really bad every month. What do you think?

It worked well for me when I used to take it for anxiety. I could take it symptomatically when needed and didn't need to take it for weeks before I had any effect. It was very calming for me but I know other people have said it was stimulating so this drug seems to work very differently for everyone.

I myself took this medication for the same reasons you have stated. It was not a good choice for me. I felt very looped and did not adjust well to it. As a result, my anxiety that was just physical, turned mental. I started in with panic that I did not have prior. Once that door was opened, it took sometime to get back on track. Please consider this med wisely. This program was a better choice for me. Had I known then, what I found out later, I would of never taken it. Meditation is a great fix for palputations. It takes time to learn to quite the mind, which calms the body....but it's a solution to the problem we create within our anxious minds. It's within your control without the help of an SSRI. Learning to brealth in a calm relaxed manner will also help with the heart and palputations. Message me anytime you'd like to know more about the meditations I do or try Lucinda's cd. My best to you...
