Hello everyone! How are you guys doing today?I was just wandering if any of you ever wake up with the racy feeling? It's been happening to me almost everyday for the last 2 years!I do have some good mornings in which I'm very thankful for.I should mention that I'm already taking Xanax Er 1mg 3 times a day!I still have alot of anxiety on this dose.In other words it dose not make me too sleepy.I am pretty sure that most of this anxiety is coming from my thought pattern but I just am having trouble believing that I made myself get to this state of anxiety.I keep wanting to think that there's something else causing all this.Like something physical. The doctor says no.I'm trying so hard to keep moving forward but it's so hard when I keep waking up like this everyday.Thank you for any advice!God Bless!

I know just what you're talking about. I feel the 'racing' feeling constantly and it makes for a very uncomfortable state of being. If you find anything that helps this, let me know and I'll do the same for you.

Try an antidepressant instead, quite often prolonged use of Benzo can cause what you are feeling.

I have racing feelings especially before I go to bed; very rarely in the morning but I think no matter what time of day one gets them, they are hard to deal with.

I am going to admit that I've been eating more sugar lately [I fell off the wagon during the holidays and haven't quite gotten
back on yet] & have been lacks on my relaxation exercises [aka don't doing them ] along with not exercising. Gee, I am bad!

What I can say is is that when I was paying attention to all those things I noticed that a lot of my racing feelings stopped. Perhaps if you can set aside relaxation time, as well as watching what you eat & trying to get some exercise in, you will be exerting some of that extra energy that is causing you to be uncomfortable.

Good luck!

Thank you guys for replying.I'm having one of those days where I just can't seem to settle down. It's like I can just feel the blood rushing through my body!Very frustrating!I will try some relaxation.I wander why the xanax would make you feel that way? This is the first med that I've actually stayed on.I've tried antidepressants but I just couldn't handle them.Believe me I'm not thrilled about having to take the xanax but it seems to be all I can tolerate. My biggest fear is passing out. When I get high anxiety of course that is what I feel is going to happen. It scares me to death!I don't know why.Everyone else is like so people pass out sometimes. You'll wake back up.Well that's not at all how I see it.I just keep fighting it.I know, wrong thing to do.I'm trying to let go.The mind is so powerful!

Hi Never give up
Just a quick question are you on the program and if so how far are you ??
I have this alot as well not just in the morning but mornings are very hard for me. I do find eating right and doing the relaxation tape helps a bit so does the 4 breaths in 6 breaths out breathing I just find that pattern helps me more. I have never heard of xanax doing that making you more edgy but I am not a doctor. I have terrible dizziness with my anxiety and am also afraid to faint. If you ever need to talk just pm me anytime and if I can help you in any way I will. Really try the relaxation in the morning as well as the breathing it helps a bit it is better than nothing right. I too cannot take antidepresents so I am right with you there. You could also try taking a nice brisk walk earlier in the day if you are able that should help as well.
Take care and may God bless you on your journey

What you are describing is pure anxiety, adrenaline and other hormones coursing through your body, it all starts with a thought!! I have found that B vitamins help a lot! Our nervous systems humm when we have enough vitamin B. You can get your B through eating right as well. Also calcium/magnesium calms the body down.

Remember to move your body, this will help to metabolize the adrenaline. Also say things to yourself such as "I am safe", repeat that throughout your day.

Wishing you the best,

Coco :)
