Hi guys I have been using the program for a few months now and I am doing a lot better with the anxiety but know I am starting to get depressed thinking about all the stuff I have missed in life. I am 17 years old right now and for about the past 6 years I have been suffering from anxiety disorder. I have 5 days left of high school and I'm finished it forever. I have a lot of regrets... not going to any of the dances or events and I'm not going to prom. I don't have many friends and I was really shy around girls until the last week (I have talk to girls more this week then I have in my entire life).

Hi Ricky,

I have been there before. I'm 24 and I didn't go to my prom or anything either. I had a boyfriend at the time, but he was weird and didn't want to go with me there(it was a strange relationship). I missed out on a lot of things in high school due to my anxiety and stuff too. But try to look on the bright side of things, you are only 17. It isn't like your 90 and you missed out on your whole life. You still have college if you want to go, and you can socialize more then. You have your whole life ahead of you to socialize. Try to move forward with excitement instead of look back with discontentment and sadness. It's hard, but just try. At least you talked to girls this week!

Congratulations on your recent successes, Ricky. All of us probably feel some sadness about the time we lost to anxiety, but we cannot change it now and thinking about it will only send us back to that place.

Now it is all about the future. You have so much to look forward to in your life, and you are lucky to have found solutions to anxiety at such a young age. Keep up the good work!

Hey thanks guys for all the support, I'm starting to feel a little better. Oddly I decided to check my horoscope on yahoo today and I have never checked it in my life, this is what it said:

Quickie:
You've learned that being depressed about the past only delays your progress.
Overview:

You run into a minor problem that seems to keep you from your destination or goal, but you may be able to work around it. Limitations don t have to be troubling, though -- you can handle this one.

It was so weird when I read it.

Ricky-

you should be so proud of yourself, you are on the road to recovery, I so wished I had this program 20 years ago! You now have a great opportunity to start your new adult life more together than most! Look forward!

Ricky, I'm not a believer in horoscopes, but I frequently love the ones on msn.com. When they seem to really apply to me, I write them in my journal. I just use them as I do any other inspirational quote.

Sometimes God can find strange ways to motivate and inspire.

Hi Ricky,

I first did the program in high school, too. Did you graduate or do you still have another year? Either way, you'll have a brand-new start: If you still have senior year ahead of you, you've got another prom and more dances. If you've already graduated, you've got college and/or "the real world" to look forward to. You can re-invent yourself! Obviously you're still YOU, but you can present a more confident, relaxed side of yourself. Best of luck to you!! Always remember to take pride in your progress and congratulate yourself on all the things you do well!
