For years I have dealt with what feels like someone shooting a hypodermic full of adrenaline into my solar plexus with chemical rush that spreads up into my chest.
It's terrible because I constantly feel like I am on high alert. I also have these at night and they can last for hours and prevent my from getting either to sleep, back to sleep or sometimes both. Since I have started the program, (I am on the third week), it seems like they are subsiding a little bit, and are not so strong. I have had this for years. Does anyone relate?

I can relate not as often as yours, mine comes from loud noises. I grew up with a lot of yelling and throwing things so any loud noise sends me to a high alert stage.
I always thought it was panic...but what you discribe is what I feel. I am on week four and this has not gotten better for me. Many other things have though.
Is there something in your past that may of caused this? I wonder if it will subside as you go through the program. Do you use the relaxation CD? Does it help. I also try to tell myself when it happens this to will pass or I try to think through it and journal it out.
I sure feel for you...I think you will find continued relief in the program...Good luck.
Oh what about exercise, do have a work out program?

I thought you two may be interested in looking up an old post about this. If you go under "Find" at the top of this page you can type in words to try and find an old post.
I remember posting a reply on one called 'Adrenaline burst for no reason". It helped me alot! I think that's why I remembered it. It's a VERY good Topic. There are alot of good replies to this person's post.
Hope that helps

Hello to all, My name is Trina
Oh my Gosh, I am SO glad someone posted about this topic! That's exactly what I feel. It isn't really like a panic attack, I've had many of those. Ever since I launched into early menopause (I'm going on 44), I get these wierd feelings like a panic attack coming on, but what happens is my heart will skip or flutter and then I get a rush that feels like adrenaline and my heart will beat fast for maybe a half a minute or a minute and then it is gone! I could be reading, walking or doing nothing at all when it comes on. Lately it is happening once a day or a few times a week, and is related to my menstrual cycles too. It's more annoying than anything, and my doctor says it isn't harmful.
Glad to hear that we aren't alone in our progress and we need to keep reminding ourselves that we are just fine.

Oh and as an added note, exercise is something that has really made a difference for me. I take yoga once a week and also do it at home when I am feeling stressed. I also take walks and swim at the local indoor pool once in a while. I avoid sugary things, caffiene, and try to eat well. Doesn't seem to always help the adrenaline rushes but I stick to my exercise and keep my focus off of them when it happens. Oh, and I've been REALLY bad with the program, trying to stick to it, am on lesson five and began it a year ago. My daughter got married so I got away from it. But I am back! Trina

I hadn't had one for almost 2 years, and I have had 2 since the 1st of the year. Actually, I had one the other morning while on my way to work. It kind of scared me for a second. I completed the program about a year and a half ago. If I hadn't ever gone thru the program, I wouldn't have known what to do about the rush. So, I was able to calm down rather quickly. Nevertheless, it can be a crazy feeling when it comes unexpectedly. I am going to review some lessons to see what I might need to work on since I just had a couple after so long without them.
